I was down the pub having a meal and i had swan draught with it.... I havent drunk beer in months and it was very good tasting. The thing that amazes me these days is the audacious pricing ...they seem to think of a figure and multiply by 10
Sadly very true. I usually drink at Transport in the city before a game. They have a good range but very expensive.

Nah, he’s a volume guy for sure. That means Pilsner.

I was speaking to a guy at The Bright Brewery last summer and he reckoned Jordy had a big session there a while back. Can’t say what his choice of beer was, my bet is that he was on the pale ales.

Here is my take on the DeGoey situation.

1. He is an idiot. Why would you film yourself doing all those things? Yes it's not illegal but if you still don't know that it's going to cause drama 10 years into your career you are a lost cause. If I sent that kinda shit to my work chat there would be issues.

2. AFL media is shit. It's been shit for a long time and will remain to be shit for the foreseeable future. That's why I don't read or watch anything football related because it's poison.

3. The Club didn't do that much wrong. They gave him a fine for causing more drama. Pulling his contract I fully support. We literally broke the club by overpaying and having too long contracts over the last few years. His market value has dropped because no-one wants to touch him. We should change our offer to show this. These are the real consequences to his actions not suspensions and fines. The club waited to hear from him before making a statement. Yes they made him apologise after his little hissy fit on social media. He represents the club on and off the field. That's part of his huge salary. This isn't unique to AFL but sports everywhere. Drama for a player is drama for the club.

4. If we lose him so be it. It's obvious DeGoey is never going to be all in for his AFL career. He will be a good player with flashes of brilliance. He is never going to be a Brownlow medalist and superstar of the comp. One player isn't bigger than the club. If anything by changing coaches I want that to be the main lesson learnt. If players won't take pay cuts if they need to to stay at the club then let them free.

ahhh...imported i should have known.
No, not imported. It's a style of IPA and made locally by brewers such as Hawkers, especially if you can get their Double West Coast IPA.
Edit: I guess the "style" is imported, but made locally.

My son's best mate works there. You would remember him because he's about 6ft 8in and looks like a middle eastern terrorist.

Can we fit him into our forward line?

Why are you posting about de goey in this beers and other rubbish thread? 🙄

ahhhh.. well generally I'm just looking for a drink, instead of something to improve me as a person. i'd probably just grab that swan draught that i had this week. I have to admit that it would be a waste of money to splurge it on my image. It's beyond hope.

Timing matters and you don't get that from the article.JDG was in deep s**t before the NY sexual assault charges were dropped. It may have been career over if they were sustained. If the AFLW complaints were for him to be punished before the sexual charges were dropped, big deal. If afterwards, they're idiots.
Not really, it reflects poorly on them if they are demanding punishments off the back of accusations.

If he was to get convicted then demand a punishment then

At least the post-game Moorabbin disco is shut

Not sure Jordy could have resisted that

What about the Moorabbin Bowls? That was near the ground and a scene back in the day. Fertile ground for a playa like Jordy.

Whilst I have not read any detail about the apparent complaint from AFLW players (so am skeptical as to what, if anything, happened) there is almost no way that it could have been made whilst the groping charge was "alive". That was a period of around 24 hrs.

Inappropriate or not, half the country wanted him sacked when the charges included sexual assault.

Do you remember the uproar in that 24 hours? More than enough time for journos to ring around and Collingwood AFLW players would have been a likely phone call. One thing you can't criticise journos for is the speed at which they work.

Yes, Browne supposedly made his comments of 'don't do anything that Jordy wouldn't do' well after sexual assault charges against Jordy were dropped, and well before Jordy's Insta interaction with Remy

The gender equality consultants who have run hard with the story, and whose livelihoods are based on dealing with sexual harassment, have framed their narrative against Browne as if Jordy was guilty of the earlier dropped charge in NY and guilty of the non-charges in Bali

If this erroneous jump in logic is excluded, Browne has made a mildly inappropriate, black-humoured comment about a sometimes disorderly and fisti-cuffing Jordy (nothing to be proud of but not inherently sexist in nature)

One of the costs of the erroneous outrage is that it makes some people cynical about other charges of sexual violence

There was a report in The Oz which quoted a gender diversity expert as follows,

“So he(Browne) is focusing on the wrong thing, make light of the scoreboard or things like that, not violence against women from a player who clearly has issues regarding respect towards women."

"Violence against women". There is nothing of the sort in that dumb joke, nor in De Goey's background. Yet now he is tagged. Oh for some critical thinking.
