Motivational speaking and general well-beingAnd what sort of work will you be conducting?
Ahhh, a hands on roleMotivational speaking and general well-being
More bullsh*t jargon
The one I hate is don't judge a book by its cover. Unless I am prepared to read the thing in its entirety, the cover is usually the best available indicator.'Recency bias' is a well-established principle within cognitive science and behavioural economics
Possibly the most important manipulation of recency bias was by General John Kelly when he was Trump's Chief of Staff
Kelly knew Trump was very biased to the last voice in his ear
So Kelly ordered Trump's calendar so the most sane advisers were given time slots closest to decision time
Its converse is 'primacy bias' - where first impressions / presentations require significant cognitive effort to overcome
You could always read the blurb. The one I hate is don't judge a book by its cover. Unless I am prepared to read the thing in its entirety, the cover is usually the best available indicator.

Because its on the cover. You could always read the blurb.

Excellent example. First reaction, 'I'd buy that book".Yep, Mum's library included enticing covers like:

Didn't take long for me to abandon the turgid rubbish we were assigned in Year 7
BTW - I re-read First Blood on the weekend. Another excellent cover that tells you exactly what is on the way. A wonderful book that all should read. Rambo (or The Kid, never John - he only got a first name in the movies) and his appetite for self-destruction reminded me a little of Jordy. Just to bring the thread back on course.Yep, Mum's library included enticing covers like:

Just looked at the cover. I wouldn't have even picked it up. Go for The Terminal List. Now an 8-part series on Prime. On holiday I brought V.S. Naipul's In a Free State (read f*ck all and watched Prime instead)
From the blurb: '...men seeking liberation far from home. By turns funny and terrifying, sorrowful and unsparing'
Reads more like a West Coast end-of-season than Jordy's cavorting

I have been to Portsea more recently than Frankston but I still adore Frankston - is that 'primacy bias'?'Recency bias' is a well-established principle within cognitive science and behavioural economics

I believe most textbooks on the subject now use the classic unlikely historical scenario of Essendon ever winning a final again.Yep, and not the converse of recency bias, but at the other end of the spectrum, we tend to regard events that haven’t happened in a long time as never likely to ever happen again…
“A U.S. housing bubble could never cause a market crash… who doesn’t pay their mortgages?”
One might argue COVID-19 was one such “black swan” after there hadn’t been such a pandemic since the Spanish Flu in the early 1900’s, and so the systemic and governmental response was lethargic and in many cases one of outright denial.

Also to be known as "Our Rafa" if he meets Kyrgios in the Wimbledon semis.I did enjoy the one about Rafa Nadal having won his first Grand Slam tournament AFTER Essendon won their last finals match…
I have been to Portsea more recently than Frankston but I still adore Frankston - is that 'primacy bias'?
I can’t quite recall but that might have been one of Kahneman’s heuristics. Refers to the tendency to remember recent events more vividly, and hence overestimate their importance in calculations.
I am not sure how this helps Jordy. Looking back 3 months includes his good games this year, look back 12 and we have to include the (righteous and justified) nightclub fight as well as his excellent back half of last year. Maybe The FireManager can try to bamboozle Wrighty with a discussion on the above?Correct, it is something drilled into people managers when doing staff appraisals and performance reviews. Works both ways in terms of performance ie. for good performance or bad - need to look at the 12 months (or 6 months) in totality and not just what occurred in the last 2 - 3 months for example.

He wasn't alone. Pendles, Crisp and Adams all had relatively quiet games.Give the man a break. He had a quiet game after a good season before the media debacle. Let him be. He'll win us a game or two before the season ends.
He has matchwinning ability. That's why clubs want him. You may not get consistency but you will get those moments, as we saw in the 2018 prelim and GF or that banana goal against the Eagles to get us over the line or the five goal performance against the cats with a broken hand. Many players are not capable of turning a game with pure brilliance. He is. So you keep the faith and endure the quiet games and hope for more magic when it's most needed
