I think the word you are looking for is 'attacking' not 'defending'.

You accused the coaching panel of being incompetent and were saying they were the wrong people for the job. What you’ve just said is literally the opposite of you being proven right. The coaches were able to see what was happening and adjust their system, meaning they’re completely competent and a review was not needed.

I just find it frustrating that if you are not one of those defending or supporting him, they immediately respond (not so friendly at times).

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and given his past episodes, I for one am over him.

If he goes, he goes.

If he stays I will still support Collingwood (have for decades now) and him if he plays well, will say so, doesn't mean I will change my opinion of his behaviour.

One player does not make a club but one player can certainly disrupt it and maybe occasionally derail their year. (not saying he has).

Jordan is one of those who simply can't commit to an all out sustained commitment, he has all the talent in the world but lacks the will to harness it to it's full potential.

For me, I am an unmitigated supporter of anyone playing for us. There seems to be a decent component of anti-Jordys who revel in any hint of his under-performance. It seems odd, at the very least.

I was his biggest fan in 2018. Looked like potentially a top 10 in the league type. He has not come on as we expected. I am saying I was wrong. People think I hate him. I don't at all. I want him to succeed with Collingwood. His last half of last year looked like a potential turning point as i think he started doing the simple things better. He started the season ok and it had the potential to be his breakout season. It hasn't happened. Again.

I do think he is soft in mind, in that he will attempt a ridiculously unrealistic defensive attempt to take himself out of the play and then not have to worry about a second effort. How many times do we see him bounce off players when attempting to tackle? He has also shirked high balls on many occasions. Like he has a reasonable leap, how many times can you remember him going back with the flight and attempting to mark?

With this all said, he has been a big game player for us, is extremely powerful and skilful and has a freak factor that cannot be taught. He is a Norm Smith medallist waiting to happen. I know why he has so many ardent supporters, it's the potential of greatness just over the horizon. For a team outside the 8, he is not worth anywhere near 800k. If we are a top 4 team he is worth 700k as he can win games single handedly. I did ot think we were anywhere close to a top 4 team or a top 8 team even 5 weeks ago. We still may not be. But if we are, I am definitely in DeGoeys camp as he can turn it on in a big final for us.

I agree with you about the media and Jordan's innocence PE but he has only himself to blame really. He had to know that the media were after him and yet he gave them exactly what they wanted.

He reminds me of Phil Carman - not the stunning athleticism and outrageous talent - but the total lack of common sense.

I think I like this approach. Probably more mature than mine would have been.
Jordan’s just one member of our team. If he leaves I’ll wish him well on his journey and be barracking for another Collingwood player. Until then I‘ll look forward with optimism for him both on and off field. Reckon he still has a lot to offer, doesn’t have to be a “superstar“ or as good as player X, just contribute to our next Premiership
