Jordan McMahon was a teenager the last time he played under coach Terry Wallace, back at the Western Bulldogs in 2002.

Five years on, he renews the relationship with Wallace – this time at Richmond and with 114 AFL games under his belt.

“Terry was my original coach and I had a very good relationship with him. Of course, it will be a totally different relationship now as a 24-year-old and with a lot more experience in the game,” McMahon said.

“I’m very excited about the move and really believe the change will do me good.

“Richmond, I believe, is one of the four powerhouse Victorian clubs of the competition. There’s a lot of young talent at the Club and that’s one of the reasons I was so keen to get here – to take on a bit of a leadership role and help with their development.

"The Tigers are not far away from hitting their straps and playing some really good football and I’m very much looking forward to being part of it all.”

Richmond regards McMahon as the archetypal modern-day league player and, as such, is a significant inclusion to the senior list.

“What AFL football’s all about now is run and carry, with good disposal. And, there’s no doubt that Jordan has excellent kicking ability,” said the Tigers’ Director of Football Greg Miller.

“By adding him and Mitch (Morton) to our side, we’re certainly improving the quality of disposal.

“Not only can Jordan play a similar valuable running role to the one Lindsay Gilbee plays in the backline at the Bulldogs, but he’s also able to play up forward.

“He’s a class player and we fought against Port Adelaide for his services and were rapt to get him.”

Exactly what i wanted to hear from him.

He played 18 of 22 games last year.

This is only a rumour - but I heard it well before trade week. Rocket has been very critical and hard on five players, Jordy, Power and the rest I won't name as they are still with our club. IMHO I think the reason Jordy's game fell off over the course of the year was partly due to his deteriorating relationship with Rocket.
Wallace knows his ability as a player, and I think Jordy will add much needed speed to your side.
I am sad to see him go - but wish him well at his new club.

Straight off the script :thumbsu:

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Mcmahon was among the dogs top 7 or 8 players. The dogs are hopeless, they will be a bottom 4 team next year

McMahon in top 7-8 players, I don't thinks so, he was playing reserves football halfway through the year as his skills and decision making were so poor.

Here's some names for you to think about before you make stupid statements such as that;

West,Cross,Johnson,Harris,Gilbee,Cooney,Griffen,Murphy,Morris,Boyd - he wasn't fit to tie the bootlaces of these players

McMahon's biggest problem is he has a lot of pace, but unlike players such as Davey,Farmer etc he does not chase down tackles.

He played 18 of 22 games last year.
Weaver I knew that, but I was pointing out that he was dropped from a team that was really battling and his kicking was ordinary this season.
I understand that you have a very high opinion of him,and that's fine.I am merely pointing out that for every beautiful pass there will be a shocker too.

I reckon Mcmahon moved ahead Murphy in the list. Although Mcmahon had a quiet year, he wanted to leave the Dogs. There's a good article about Mcmahon being confident he can really give us some class and zip
