a question to all Tigers fans - how many thought over the years thank god we don't have this guy in our team (And you could put P. Bowden in that category too!)

Well now we do :mad::thumbsdown:

Built like a stick, as soft as butter. Turns it over constantly.

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Just look at our Half Back Line:

P Bowden J Bowden J Mcmahon

Tough.
What do you need tough for. They only end up injured and cant play. The rules are changing to suit players who are fast free not in tight and get the ball cause you only get pinged these days.

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

I have long thought the opposite. How good it would be to have someone with superb kicking skills running off the HBF to hit the forwards on the lead. Haven't had many decent kicks since Cameron retired.

SPOT ON

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

some blokes are never happy

Mid year everyone was crying we need skill

how many times did i read things like

We have always had hard players like the kellaways rogers etc

we need skill

tuck and raines cant kick we cant win unless we get someone who can deliver to our leading forwards

we go out and recruit 2 blokes with excellent skills
now your crying that there not tough enough

Not evey player has to be in and under
leave that for king cogs tuck connors etc

Jordan is a great pick up

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Thanks Richmond for taking another Hack off our list for over price (P.Bowden as well). Jordan McMahon is a complete downhill skier. The only time he has looked good was last year and the start of this year when team was going ok. When under the slightest pressure he makes poor decisions and constantly turns ball over, he won't be hitting Richardson "lace out" like you think. He was number 1 in league last year for turnovers coming out of defence, and this is someone who also doesn't get his own ball and doesn't put body on the line.
And you get all these attributes at the cool price of $1 million over 3 years, and Richmond has now traded its way out of this years draft, Good luck.
You are a clown go and support another club i dont mind really the less NEGATIVE supporters the club will be better off.We spit at our coaches dump shit at our rooms and give players a hard time. What makes us so much better than them at least they are having a go.

Absolultly spot on i would sit next to you at the footy and know i would enjoy the game win or lose.

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

there are generally 2 problems with most of the players drafted or recruited by Miller.

1 - they are not hard enough for afl - this includes Tambling, P.Bowden, McMahon, JON, Pattison. I will say Jake King and Polak are an anomoly on this one.

2 - they have minimal leadership qualities - Johnson, Brown, Tambling, P.Bowden, McMahon, JON, Meyer, Schulz. I will excuse Foley from this list.

these are 2 big problems that we face with our squad.

Miller is like a 2 dime hussler during trade week wheeling and dealing on the used goods, while Wallace is the snake oil salesman that makes all the excuses about why the product doesn't work properly during the year.

No wonder we're last on the ladder with these 2 incompetents in charge - and believe me we'll be last again in '08

Ok Mr F****** negative F*** off and find another club if you are not happy.

Had to look at this thread as I was interested in the differing points of view. McMahon is a receiver and very soft, no doubt. What he can do is deliver the ball at speed mid to long distances very well. A full sprinting kick to a Richo on the lead is to my mind an exciting thought.
The downside is when he tries to get too creative in the backline and chip kicks it short. His awareness and decision making in close is poor.
Bulldogs fans loved it when he ran the lines, unfortunately it didn't happen enough and he was dropped a few times for it.
I wish him well at Tiges but fear his "hardness" may infuriate a lot of Tiger supporters.

you do the rest..

I was a little skeptical on this recruit but I think Jordie may prove to be exactly what we need out of defence and even as a winger. He has the silky skills and delivery that we desperately need. At his best he is a very talented although skinny footballer who is very good at his craft.

Let's support Jordan McMahon rather then bring him down, he could be a very handy pick up. :thumbsu:

A lot of people have been saying McMahon is soft, a receiver and so on, but he is capable at times of putting on some very good hard tackles and chasing opponents down.

I keep hearing one of the reasons he wanted out from us is that he had a gutful of Eade ripping into him - Might be true - hard to tell.

Anyway I think Tiges fans may be pleasantly surprised.

cheers

I think the fact that he couldnt hit a target at all in 07 was the reason he was de-listed.
aller

Either could Lindsey Gilbee, and we would have snapped him up with Pick #19 if he was up for grabs too.

And McMahon was traded for Pick 19. If he had been delisted, we'd have pick him up for free in the PSD.

Wonder if he'll bring his Peter Jackson suits down to Punt Road ??

If the Tigers wanted an light bodied 'outside' player whose foot skills were good 'most' of the time, why didnt you guys keep Aaron Fiora ?

Just got to hope that McMahon plays better in a different team. I wasnt a big fan when Fiora came across to the Saints, but he's been good for us - really good. In his own way.

Jordan is a great pick up

Just becuase he's small and zippy doesn't mean he has good skills.

You're all blind. His foot skills are average. He has poor disposal and turns it over alot going into the forward line.

Worst pick up ever.
