Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

a question to all Tigers fans - how many thought over the years thank god we don't have this guy in our team (And you could put P. Bowden in that category too!)

Well now we do :mad::thumbsdown:

Built like a stick, as soft as butter. Turns it over constantly.

Congratulations Wallace & Miller another mistake. The quicker we see the back of the you, the better.
Totally disagree welcome jordan will add some skill into our side football is not about being tough and hard anymore its about skill and hitting targets not turning over.Which is what we have constantly done.:thumbsu::)

This brings up another question.

Why can't we draft our own skillful players?

Is it so hard to draft a player who can kick?

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Weaver, you'd defend the club's recruiting policy even if we gave up Pick 2 for him.

If we were going to give up first round pick, Wood was a far superior prospect. We didnt because Miller's credibility is riding on Patterson who is a trier but never going to be first ruck.
no he wouldnt, weaver is as realistic on here as anyone, we were never going to give up a first roiund pick for anyone other then judd it had nothing to do with credibitility its called wood is not worth pick 2

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Damn right Terry Tan!

We should have picked up one of the many 195cm rock hard 20 year old inside midfielders with silky skills who when they're not hitting forwards lace out are kicking their own goals from the center circle. *and* we should have picked up 2 for the price!

Of course, you still wouldn't have been happy, would you?

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Anyone who honestly believes he's a hack hasnt seen much footy.

How would he possibly get a game replacing all our silky ball deliverers?
He's a walk up start assuming he's right

seth

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

I have long thought the opposite. How good it would be to have someone with superb kicking skills running off the HBF to hit the forwards on the lead. Haven't had many decent kicks since Cameron retired.

From the 2007 AFL Prospectus:

"McMahon's ability to find space and carry the ball were the strengths of his game in 2006. His contested possession rate of 18% was the fourth lowest in the competition while his 89 running bounces ranked second at the Bulldogs and eighth in the league. He rebounded from defence the 13th-most in the AFL and was one of only three players in the competition to have at least 75 inside and rebound 50s. Perceived as a highly skilled player, his kicking statistics suggest otherwise. McMahon hit the target by foot 75% last season ranking him in the poor category for defenders. Defensively he was unaccountable conceding 20 disposals on average and a total of 24 goals for the year."

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

Richmond has admitted they have made a mistake in the past by trading draft picks for the short term fix of players from other clubs...and yet miller is at it again looking for that short term fix, McMahon isnt the answer to your problems, recruiting and developing quality young players is.

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

This could turn out to be a win win or both clubs (As long as we don't waste the pick) I wanted Jordy to stay as I know he has alot of talent, however alot of people were loosing patience with him after a dissapointing year. A slight risk, for a fair price, but if he gets his head right he will be dangerous for the Tiges.

Good luck Jordy.

Re: Jordan McMahon - hack!

does this mean that Tivandale will be shown the door?
No he will be showering with Jordan McMahon Geees another outside played would have rathered they tryed for Jude Bolton ahhh well time will tell but quite willing to give him a chance.

I'm sorry guys but I'm not happy with this deal, this bloke is as soft as they come. We've just added another bloke to our receivers list,no wonder the bulldogs were keen to let him go.

No they did not want to get rid of him. There supporters are dissapointed too. Football not all about being tough in and under Mcmahon wont turn ball not like Tivendale and raines.

What? Don't u want a guy that averages 23 odd possies and can spot-up a target from fifty away?

U more than happy with rainsies floating passes that inexorably get chopped off :D

when are we going to wake up and realise it is not the 1970s anymore? the game is evolving. mcmahon fits the blueprint nicely. with polo and cogs back we will be harder around the packs. need pace and skill for them to offload to. :thumbsu:

Not happy with a skinny little receiver mate,he'll never go for a hard ball I guarantee it.

This deal smells like poo to me. Lets not forget that at the end of this last season this guy could not get a game at stages in a team that lost its last 7 games by an average of 8-9 goals. And we throw pick 19 at him. Give me a break. And if it is true that we are paying him $1m over 3 years then we look even stupider again.
