Why do people harp on that the compensation pick is so good, if it was active this year it would be worse than our pick, if Geelong go up the ladder, which is what they are trying to do, it is going to get worse. I think they could shed 10 players at the drop of a hat, they have some underwhelming players still on their list, half of them are sadly ones they chased.

North need to stick to their gums, say nothing and wait......

As i see it next season we've got these 'new' recruits, Cam Delaney , Kennedy, Black, Curran , Daw and Mckenize and whateva we pick up in this draft. I honestly believe another 12 months we'll have the pick of the crop.

Its good for Gold Coast because of their list management priorities. For other clubs you are right its nothing special. But Caddy for the compo pick is reasonable if you are in GC position.

They need to get some quality on their list pronto so they can punt rejects like Brennan sooner rather than later. They have a long bright future securing a top 3 pick the path they are going, they do not need to be banking anything.
 
They wont get 2 first rounders for him. Not many players in the comp worth that.

They WILL settle for less, otherwise Caddy will walk into the PSD and they'll get nothing, and they'll then be seen as a club that doesn't have the interest of its players at heart.

Sheer posturing from them.

Cats have gone a little cold on Caddy. Expect him to get to the Roos now in near future. McIntosh set to get to the cats for a 30ish pick.
 
I'd like to hear it from somewhere other than the North Melbourne propaganda channel. :p

Bingo. In fact, the lack of revelation while secretly desiring to go to North might be his plan to ensure his future club (by this I mean us) doesn't sell the farm. Unlike Geelong and St Kilda who seem to be after anything with a pulse we seem very keen on just Caddy. We'll sit pretty with our picks and the ones we get from Pedo and Monster then bam come deadline we have the greatest means to acquire his services. The boy is a genius.:thumbsu:
 
Pick 36 for Hmac is poor trading. I would be asking for something in the 20's and be letting Geelong work out how to get it done. Of course, you may be having TPP stress and need the relief?!?

I agree. Our midfield bats deep as it is, Caddy is obviously an upgrade on a few players and potentially a gun but the price has to be reasonable. We don't have a great pick, he wont go to a club that wants him that has a decent pick. If that club gets him, it means GC get squat.

I think Caddy has been reasonable, has given them a number of clubs to deal with, he just doesn't want to go to a club that has less prospects than GC.
 
I don't know how stupid this sounds, but i thought may be GC have got no intention of trading of.Josh Caddy . May be they are more interested in sending a message to players if you leave, we'll burn you.

And loss out massively themselves, doesn't exactly sound like the best environment if that's the case could really get the players offside and gain a bad reputation of handling players for anyone who is thinking of going there.
