Huh? Did you watch the Elimination Final this year...?

No, what happened? :p

Sure, our season fell apart towards the end. We had Wells coming off his deathbed over the pre-season, Adams went down and we have a lot of inexperienced kids. Swallow, Ziebell and Cunnington stood up, we aren't playing Atley in the middle and our game plan has not had the focus on defensive pressure or accountability in the middle imo. I think subtle changes could make a big impact to our side.

And loss out massively themselves, doesn't exactly sound like the best environment if that's the case could really get the players offside and gain a bad reputation of handling players for anyone who is thinking of going there.
You make a good point.GC are looking for credibility.

Geelong lose compo and Pick 36 and gain Pick 14 and McIntosh
North lose pick 14 + HMAC and gain Caddy and Pick 36
Gold Coast gain compo pick and lose Caddy

boils down to
Caddy for 14, north win
Hamish for 36, north lose.

they do say you win some, lose some. Hamish deal is rotten though, must be more to it, has to be.

Personally i would've been wrapped if we still ended up with a pick between 14-15. Taking a kid in the 30's just isnt doin it for me. Where's Pedo fit in to all this?

Works. Will the club accept going into the draft with the earliest picks in the 30's though? Maybe we can get back into the draft through Pedo trade somehow.

Considering this, from The Age:
Dawes, who is contracted for two more years to the Magpies, has yet to decide whether he wants to move. He is understood to be considering offers from three clubs - the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne and Carlton. When and if Dawes nominated a club, it would then be up to Collingwood to negotiate a suitable trade.
Why, again, is Caddy nominating a club, an issue?

If we're going after Caddy I think we probably accepted we're not going to enter the draft early a long time ago.

I would like to think they thought they could get a pick higher then 36 for Hamish. Not sure if Geelong are gonna be able to get one though. I personally wont be to upset at all if landing Caddy is the result.

He's contracted until end of 2014. Be patient.

Nov 2012 Caddy
Nov 2013 McDonald
Nov 2014 D Swallow
Yep can't complain about any of those outcomes....2014/15 premiership window even without any of the previous trades mentioned

I suggested this a couple of days ago and was told to go 'forth and multiply' very quickly on here. I reckon its fair. No doubt Hamish is worth a bit more but so is Geelong's compo pick so it all sort of evens out and more importantly everyone gets what they want.

Regardless if its Nth or Geel I think we all agree there's no chance he's worth 2 first round pick. Either Pick 14 or the compo is enough

Because Caddy is out of contract and would be forced into the draft (and he doesn;t want to go to Melbourne) if no trade with his nominated club pans out. While Dawes is simply looking for more opportunities now that Collingwood have Lynch. Much like Hamish nominating Geelong.

Won't happen.

Collingwood can just keep Dawes if his club of choice doesn't come to the party.

I am not sure Geelong will want to part with their compensation pick, I think Cats want to have a crack next year but if it doesn't go well and a number more retire they will want a mini-top up the following year which will likely come off of an expected bad year, that is when they will want to activate the comp pick and that would then become a very valuable pick.

Right now it is a 15+ pick but in 2 or 3 years it could be <5. If Geelong anticipate that pathway, then they wont trade it, not even for Caddy.
