Daicos Senior is idolised by the fan base. Zero chance we were not selecting his sons.

Similar to the Clokes we selected Jason and Cameron to make sure we landed Travis.

If Jason hadn't gotten himself suspended in '02, he might have been the difference!

By whom? He got a coaches vote didn't he? I included him in my top 5 for the game. What more does he need to be classified as "rated".
I'm guessing he just means in the media and such. We all know Josh's value. He's an out and out star

Yup, Nick is the Daicos and Josh is always the other Daicos in the media.

What a player Josh has become. He’s always a very strong metres gained player. But in games this year he’s won a lot more contested ball, a lot more clearances, stoppage clearances, and he’s involved in so many score involvements. Since 2020 his breakout year, he’s been consistently brilliant, ultra consistent and plays a pivotal role in our rise. All Australian squad last year, would be one of the first picked after 6 rounds. Averaging 27.3 touches a game. Great stuff.

Josh is a great player. One of the best in the squad, has become one of the most reliable players and always pops up when we need a lift!

BUT.

Needs to work on just one thing. His decision making leading into the 50 is oft-times poor. Is one of the bigger culprits of bombing it high to the top of the goal square. The only reason I'm critiquing him at all is because he's such a bloody beautiful kick of the ball; if he just lifts his head and picks out a pass like he does everywhere else on the field, he'll add about 3-4 goal assists a game to his tally.

I'm a bit reluctant to mention this because on balance Josh Daicos has been amazing. But has anyone noticed how often he kicks it out on the full under only modest pressure?

His foot skills have always been overstated, hits some good ones but also shanks a few.. Only once in his 7 years has Josh had a goal kicking accuracy higher than 50%, which was 62 in 2020. This year he's going at 36% in front of goal.

I think his kicking the last two weeks has been poor by his standards. He’s still been bloody good though haha.

I don’t get how he kicks the ball out on the full when running at the goal. Especially when you consider he’s on the “right side”.

This is happened twice in the last 10 games. Geelong final and Adelaide game 2 weeks ago.

His shots on goal are generally on the run and 30/40 metres out, often under pressure. You wouldn't expect anyone to be much better than 50% in those circumstances. Stats like that don't tell you anything useful unless they're demonstrably "high' or "low."

Watched him grow up and was never in doubt about how good he would be. Trust me it gets better. Just wait to next year with the the second coming of the Son of God.

Pre warned you all about Nick
