Josh Fraser's Injury.

Just what we have heard during the week, that he has a Posterior Cruciate Ligament injury, which if you wanted a full recovery would be 3-6 weeks.

But it seems as if Josh will be rested for 1-2 weeks then be returned like he was last year, when he did basically the same injury in the "Hall of Fame" game, missed 1 or 2 games, then reinjured the knee and missed about 4 or 5.

I'd prefer they give him the full rest now, and return him after the break against Sydney, refreshed and fully fit.

Just hoping Wood can take this opportunity.

So do I, either him or Bryan need to step up and be the number two ruckman, playing L.Brown in ruck isn't really the best thing. I prefer Bryan because I like his hardness but it could be good for Wood to be the number one ruckman if Frasers out for a while.

Josh Fraser's problem isnt his heart, he has plenty of heart.

Josh Fraser's problem is that he is too bloody nice.

Go to a training session or a clinic, and the last player left signing autographs is Josh, he is too bloody nice.

He needs some "mongrel" in him.

Look at the top rucks in the comp at the moment, and all of them have been suspended at some time, Cox, Jolly, McIntosh. They all have a little bit of Mongrel in them, just like Jamie Charman and Clark Keating had when they beat us in those GF's.

Josh needs to find some bite, some mongrel, even get reported for a change. If you gave the "go" inside Nick Maxwell to Josh Fraser, you would have a champion.

It might be too late, but hopefully after a rest both him and Travis Cloke come back with a little more fight in them.

..It might be just me (and I know this isn't really a fatigue injury as such) but I knew this bloke was going to be injured this season.

We have r*ped him his whole career and the coaching staff need to take full responsibility for his injury problems. We know he is injury prone so we play him by himself all year with Leigh Brown as backup???? I've never seen that guy get one hitout to advantage, he is useless at everything!! As i said this isn't a fatigue injury but it would have happened eventually we know that by now with fraser.

We have two ruckmen rotting in the reserves, one we sold the world for who has actually looked promising as a tap ruck when he has played but we continue to do to Fraser what we have done to him since he was 18??

People questioning his heart are kidding themselves as well, has more than any other ruckman in the AFL for what he tries to give this club. He has been in AA form for that matter this season, he just needs mates.

We all knew it was coming. You can't ruck a guy solo with next to no support & expect he will get through the year. Just happens that the timing could not be worse.

MM does not believe in ruckman that much & loves Fraser because he can play virtually as an extra midfielder with the ground he covers. I think MM thought this year a Bryan & Wood sitting on the pine for over half a game was a waste of space when an extra midfielder could be rotated - and that is a very attractive option - providing your number 1 ruck can survive. They have taken a punt that Josh's body would hold up (not sure they could base that guess on Josh's history) and that punt has backfired.

At least Wood gets a crack - but do not be surprised to see Leigh Brown & even Cox doing a lot of ruck work.

All i can say is,i believe that Dean Cox's contract expires at year;s end.
He is 27 and probably won't be part of West Coast's next premiership push.So if i was on the board at pie land i would go all out to secure his services for the next 3 years.Imagine Dean Cox and fraser working together...........The premiership would be a cakewalk.

Playing just one genuine ruckman with back up from a tall utility is the way of the future.
WCE and Freo have been doing it that way for a while now.

Malthouse loves tall mobile ruckman who can back up around the ground, hence the reason he is so keen on Keefe.
Josh is the template for the modern ruck, injuries are just a part of footy.

Every time Josh tweaks or strains or stretches his PCL it gets that little bit closer to fully tearing. One day, probably not too far away, it's going to snap and his career will probably be over.

Give him the rest he needs.

Fraser was going to break down sooner or later the way the match committee have been playing him so they are solely responsible for this situation. And I also think Cloke's injury is directly contributable to him being over-played in the pre-season which also has messed up his form.
Some really terrible mistakes this year from the fitness staff and match committee, and I'd certainly be happy to see a complete clean out of the fitness staff because frankly in the last 5 years at least every 2nd week the team has always looked physically unprepared for matches - maybe exaggerating, maybe not

Our fitness staff are very good this year, only playing players when they are fully fit and not taking any chances.
Many younger players starting to put on some bulk, like N Brown, Daisy, Heater, Cox and Wellingham and with bigger bodied young kids like Beams coming through we are getting it pretty right

our fitness staff lost us the game against Essendon, and completely overplayed too many players in the pre-season, clearly played Didak with an injury that now caused a bigger injury, and simply have no idea how to prepare our team week to week.

I think our fitness people do a pretty good job generally. Its still a pretty tough game despite what people will say. We are probably just having our 'turn' when it comes to injuries. Most of the time they are just bad luck, not bad management.

None of that is even slightly believable

if you don't think our fitness staff cost us the game against Essendon go watch that match again. With an 8 day break 22 players looked like they could barely run - ridiculous - that loss has in effect cost us the season because we haven't banked enough wins when we had a full team going, now we've got injuries, our season's blown

Nope, I still don't believe one word of it.
