POULTERBEAR what are the chances of eagles drafting powell-pepper, will he be available as a late first rounder?. Who are the other inside mids with pace that eagles could draft?

Can you share more on your opinion of Venables and McGrath?
Daniel Venables i love mainly because he's a Western Jet, but also cause he's a legitimate first round prospect. He's a mid/fwd who missed most of last year due a leg break in the first game of the U16s National Champs, and played 4 games for Jets last year. Got injured in round 1 of the TAC Cup this year, played out the game deep in the forward line and kicked 3 goals. Averaging only 15 touches a game, but kicked 3 goals a month later after that first game against Queensland at Princes Park. He's a PEGS boy, same school as Corey Ellis. So imagined hasnt played much for Jets cause of his PEGS First XVIII commitments.

Andrew McGrath is a player i like as well, Sandy Dragons boy whos a medium defender. A gun athletics man as well, he won the best first year player at Dragons last year. Obviously possesses great speed because of that, he averages 15 handball receives a game for Sandy which is elite by any stretch of the imagination. He's also great by foot and by hand. He's another private school boy, he attends Brighton Grammar so thats limited him to 4 games for Sandy so far this year. But that combination of speed, handball receives and DE% clubs will love, can see him bolting big time with that sort of form. Not too many of those sort of types this year so clubs will love that as well. Had a real standout game last one as well, 44 disposals, 14 clearances, 16 handball receives, 6 marks, 19 tackles and was easily the best player on the ground.

He potentially could, on talent alone he's a top 5-10 pick, right up there with his WA teammate Sam Petrevski-Seton. But he does have some character issues from what ive heard, but so far averaging 24 touches a game for East Perth in the Colts. He was good for AFL Academy in their two games against Werribee and Geelong, but his Werribee game was by far the better one. So at the moment he'd probably sit just before the Eagles pick, but would make it even harder for him to slip if West Coast win the minor premiership, which they probably could!

just a quick drive-by congrats to NSW/ACT for winning the Div 2 Champs, and for Harry Perryman (NSW/ACT), Jack Bowes (QLD), Tarryn Thomas (TAS) and Rohan Armstrong (NT) for winning their respective team's MVPs

Looking at the spreadsheet on page 1 GWS will look to pick up 5 Academy players in the Top 20. With 3 first rounders and 2 second rounders including their own they should easily be able get these players taking into account discounts. They may need to get a little extra shrapnel in the trade period but not to much. They will likely try to rack up future 2017 picks.
They allegedly also have a $600k CAP hole to fill - so players have to go. McCarthy would be on contracted reasonable $$$ and will likely go for a song and dance - Freo are lucky GWS have Cameron, Paton and Lobb. At least 4 others will go to create list space and some will have to be on reasonable $$$ as they have to save the $600k plus extra's to accommodate players they want to keep who are coming out of contract.
Wonder whether another big name wants out 'a la' Treloar????- would only go for $$ as GWS look the goods. Treloar will be sought after but he is not a big name and is probably on average $$. What ever its going to be a very interesting trade period.

Yeh because every year leading up to 2019 GWS have to increasingly become closer to the AFL normal in salary cap and list numbers. So say GWS draft all 5 of their top 25 picks. This means that they will need to cut 7 players by either trades or delistings because they need to free up 2 players to meet their AFL agreed guidelines, and then an extra 5 to have all those 5 draftees fit in. Players like Steele, Ahern, Pickett and Tomlinson will all be the players who other clubs will be ciricling big time, and of course the two WA clubs going after Cam McCarthy.

I think they are currently below the number of players they are allowed on their list though so if they want to add 5 players they won't necessarily have to cut 7.

You're correct, they have 44 out of a possible 46 but they will still need to move on 5 because the need to have 44 max on their list next year (if they draft those 5 players this year).

Actually, we only have 42 senior list players (there are 2 rookies) this year, the minimum we can carry (required 42-46). Next year GWS need to be in the range 40-44, so we could get away with only moving on 3 if 5 are drafted. However, for salary cap reasons and because no doubt some players will want to move on for more opportunity or homesickness, I expect there to be more than 3 departures.

So, let's assume Patfull retires, Tomlinson is tempted back to Victoria, Marchbank leaves due homesickness, McCarthy ditto and say Barrett moves for better opportunity. Who (and how many many) would you draft from this year's crop for best list balance?

Been tracking this guy for a little while now. Any chance on Fletcher Carroll being drafted? Barely seen any mock drafts with him in it

GWS will be looking to bring those 5 and thats it, so you have Harrison Macreadie (Possible Pick 1 but more like top 5), Will Setterfield (Top 10-15), Kobe Mutch (Top 10-15), Harry Perryman (Top 10-15) and Zach Sproule (Top 20-25) and maybe even Connor Byrne (Top 25-30). Those first 5 are certainties to join GWS and Byrne will be dependent on how many picks and stuff they're able to bring in, because they'll also be looking to bring in picks for next year because there is the same amount of talent available to them next year as there is next year.

Carroll can yes but for him it's dependent if he makes the Allies squad of 28 or not. Which i think going off his Division 2 Champs for NSW/ACT i think he's right in the contention. As a small outside mid except him to play in the forward line for the Allies cause if he's able to at success for that level watch his stock rise, because before this year he had no experience at any high level playing as a small forward, and he'll need that feather in his cap to be able to be drafted.

I think you have Allison way too high would expect him to be in the 13-20 draft range
You want him in that range. Not the same thing.

If a Brisbane academy member is going to be picked in that range I'd expect it to be Declan Watson over Allison to be honest. Allison is ranking highly on draft big boards on reputation alone. Hasn't performed all that highly this year. I would be very, very surprised if he went top 10 come draft day. Ben Keays was ranked top 10 in the majority of draft boards this time last year, where did he go? Pick 24.

LOL.

Who are you trying to kid?

Read his mock draft and compare it to people like Cal Twomey and Emma Quayle. Would take the opinion of Knightmare, Chris25 and Bishop over him every time.
