Judd - Surgery not necessary

I think Judd has the opposite problem. He leaves so much doubt about his actual condition by indicating that he could be ready to play at any time between 3 weeks and never. All he has to say is that he is making progress slowly and that he is hopeful of making it back for round 1 but will not rush it as it is better to be safe than sorry. A lot of the talk around his injury would diapear without the constant allusions to the potential for this injury to end his career, or at least his season. A cynical person could be forgiven for believing that he is deliberately creating doubt to get his name in the paper.

I would be very annoyed at Judd if I were part of the medical team that advised him to take the surgery. He is essentially suggesting they advised him incorrectly. I am begining to feel a little jaded about Judd's performances since the end of last season. He used to barely say anything that was not positive and reflective of his position as part of a team. These days he seems to be more self-focused. What happened to the old Judd that everybody liked?

he sold out for more coin and went home when his club needed him. Lol, nah, im over it just teasing. I think wether his is ready or not this year, he wont be back to his brilliant best until late in the season or even 2009.

the word i get from very good sources in melbourne is that judd wont play at all in 08.boo hoo im heart broken. captaion dudd more like it

omg i heard from very reliable sources in melbourne chris judd got attacked by rats in his house and is in a critical situation in hospital omg

sosbenny u better chop it off now then because it was an injury that would heal over time if there wasnt too much stress placed on it and is normally the preferred option.
Surgery was never necessary but an option to try an make the recovery period shorter.

All them votes judd got last year most were because the umpires an media loved him.
There was no way he was best on ground in most of them games he got votes for.

Backing you up on this. By round 3 last year, my husband said to me that Judd looked like he wasn't moving as well as he does. We both decided it was due to the increased workload thru the midfield due to Ben Cousins being in rehab. With a midfield of Judd/Cousins/Kerr, it allowed for the 3 of them to rotated off for regular rest periods. This changed when Cousins was out and Judd was shouldering more game time.

Hoping he comes up, but what the poster I just quoted said is something we noticed too.
Someone i sit at the footy with also commented early last year that "Judd isn't playing like Judd", but probably more in hope than anything I told them they were wrong. As i look back at it now, they were probably right and i was, at the time, in denial.

Simpson on 3aw said that judd would definately be ready by rd 1 if not earlier
And what, Does Simpson live in Judds pants and have the 411?
Of course a team mates gonna say that, You wouldnt hear him saying "Nar Judd wont play until rd 10.

As for your comment whippersnipper about our boys not playing with their heart. I dont see any of your mob throwing up from physical exhaustion each week at half time unlike your Benny Cousins, Andrew McLeods and Luke Hodges.

Did he try to snort the vomit as well?

Tell him to sleep once in a while too, even if it is just once a week.

Just because he left a club with a drug culture and snubbed his nose at a certain other victorian club with a known drug culture does not make him a dog .

Oh boy, you don't know too much about your own clubs history do you?

Well that's his fault for inviting Ratten over in the first place ;)

GAry Ayres, welcome to BF!:D

I dont quite get it. He says if he had his time over he would consider not having surgery. I wonder if the article previously raised for discussion on this website regarding rectifying surgery against the patch up surgery that Judd had was well informed and in fact correct.

With Judd stating that if he had his time over he would consider not having surgery at all indicates that from his point of view he doesnt feel his injury has improved from the surgery and considering his output on the field in the last half of last season I would extremelly concerned if I were a Carlton supporter.
As would I....and I'd probably have a little smirk if I was a WC supporter too. They got his best years and now he's moved on well past his prime.

Prime at 24? Holly shit, doesn't Fremantle have an average list age of 24ish? Last chance lotto for Freo or it's all down hill according to your theory

For me, sure I was peeved we lost Judd to Carlton, and for a while I was bitter about it. Due to months of counselling with my therapist I am now over it :D I do hope he can carve up the opposition again, he's sensational to watch when he's on fire. Just dont carve up WCE okay...
