Hmmmmmm.... very.very interesting......have been mutterings about ex boyfriends, Julies car being run off the road in the weeks before her disappearance, a police recruit who "drove like a maniac" etc etc..as an alternative to the "first victim of the CSK" theory......a SCS policeman said in the "Post "newspaper this week that there is nothing currently to suggest that Julies disappearance might be linked to the CSK crimes....the "Post" usually gets some good "inside mail".

For the past 18 months, investigators would have been trawling through and constructing a detailed timeline of BREs life, interviewing and re-interviewing family, friends and exes for any scrap of information and trying to in Julie's case particularly since the Cutler's were told the police suspected she was a victim of the CSK, either put him in the frame for it or conclusively rule him out.

They have new information, it's logical to suspect the information they have,(regardless of what the police say because with respect, they're professional liars and there are questions of sub judice) came to them in their investigations into the CSK. But, could it mean they've excluded him from involvement and taken a different course that's been fruitful?

Sorry but can we put this theory to bed. The police speculated in 2003 that the possibility was there ONLY because the profile and the person linked was in the age range.

That she was a victim of the CSK is if
1. BRE is indeed found to be involved
2. BRE is found innocent

Unless there is a recent article suggesting this

We found out only recently he was active in the same year Julie disappeared. Huntingdale 1988. Nothing else has changed, his profile and age range stays the same. I know and I know you know, there's no way the only crimes he's committed (allegedly) are the charges he's facing. ah ah.

But as I said, he may now have been ruled out.

Clearly visible reef circled, to show where i think the car sustained some damage when it was upside down and waves pushed it around. Also i think damage may have occured when winching car into shore. (Especially if it went over the reef).

Pretty sure it was hauled out over that reef. In 1988 also, the reef sustained damage and a council was formed to restore and protect. This is really interesting, the entire history of Cott Beach, speccies of all structures and improvements is fully documented here.

Maybe the car went down this road onto the beach out into the crashing surf and ended up on the reef? That road could have been the path taken by the driver who i presume drove like a rally / speedway driver into the ocean? (early on mon 20th June 88)
Where it remained hidden until weds 22nd june88? when its seen underwater by a swimmer Mr Mickle.

This mystery is not simple to figure out.
Not many could drive a car out that far into the sea imo .

i have been joining the dots and figuring out more with the recent news.

Im still studying the Cottesloe beach "Seasonal beach morphology" trying to figure out how it could have happened in 1988. Currently (May- July) Sand build up high enough that it doesnt look too hard for a car to drive off onto the beach from the access road....wonder if it was similar in 1988 ?
First two of these pictures are very recent, dated from june this year.
Theres lots of weed which i think was partly the reason for the car being hidden underwater.
I found pictures by searching instagram for the hashtag #cottesloebeach & #cottesloegroyne
Seaweed is seen in all pictures here and the access road most likely used. (now that we know what part of the beach the car was retrieved.)

Seaweed everywhere, my reading is that we're more likely to see it washing up in the colder months that there's seasonal influences aside from rough sea tearing it away. You're probably right, seaweed helped camouflage her car.

KT is on the Crime Stoppers website and was spoken about on radio on Tuesday. You are right, very little media in comparison to JC....

Can't find anything about a cold case review as such on Kerry but it's implied in this article that it's with a dedicated cold-case homicide team.

Imo, the damage done to this vehicle shows quite a few similarities to the damage on JC Fiat. While it's likely Julie's fiat was in the ocean for a lot longer (days) so sustained far more damage, It may help to explain the impact zones on the doors and possibly the beginning stages of the damage to the roof.

The swell was *powerful at cottesloe beach during the time frame actually.
*22 second period "long period swell".
I have the proof that the surf was very strong for perth metro beach standards. You want see ?
