Jumper clash fails

Ego. It’s like we will think less of Carlton because they have to humble themselves and wear a clash jumper against Collingwood. But they wear it for many other rivals, even very old rivals too. I actually think less of Carlton for being so stubborn and arrogant. It’s not like it helps them? Since clash jumpers have been a thing in AFL football Carlton have done SFA on the field.

Honestly, this one is no closer to a resolution. Agree with the majority that tonight is awful.
I’d rather Collingwood always wore their white uniform and Carlton their navy blue, regardless of who the home team is.
Nope. If carlton wear their white clash v port, v freo, v saints then they can bloody well wear it against Richmond, Essendon and Collingwood.
Carlton Essendon and Richmond are ****sticks

That’s as maybe, but for whatever reason these three clubs and/or the AFL refuse to yield. I’m yet to see an official explanation why!

Either someone in the current leadership is massive into "tradition for tradition sake" or they are completely gutless. Not sure which is worse but its terrible leadership either way

Annual reminder that this clash exists because Collingwood changed their 'home' jumper in 2001 at the request of Nike, who wanted to increase their sales.

There is no clash betwern Collingwood's traditional jumper and Carlton's. Collingwood just choose not to wear it.
Why does your team wear the clash version v port and freo and saints?
Why not be stubborn there also?
Why dont you wear it v Essendon and v Richmond ?

Yep, pies OG jumper did work.

BUT Home team can wear what they want though - that’s their right. Its then up to the league to enforce the rules - especially when you guys actually have a perfectly good clash jumper.

They can. Still wont wear it against big 4 or in a GF should they ever make one
It's so stupid, teams need to get away from tradition and look at the bigger picture. If one of the biggest clubs in world say manchester united can have an alternative strip that isn't their tradition colours then Carlton can wear an alternative strip just a few times a year. Richmond wore an inverted strip in the 2017 gf. Do Richmond supporters care, no they won the gf ending a 37 year drought. All that matters is winning 🏆

This just flat out doesn’t matter champ. The pies current home is dark, it’s your (and the afls) fault

Yes, almost a quarter of a century ago. A quarter of a century.

Collingwood should be able to wear an all-black Guernsey with a big C for Collingwood on it and it should be up to Carlton as the away team to come up with a clash though. If Carlton and/or the AFL have such poor brand recognition that they feel it's inconceivable for their team to wear an alternate guernsey then they've done a pretty piss poor job making one of the "big teams" in the league relevant.
