The only coloured shorts we have is Maroon, wish we had either red or blue shorts to wear for away games.
If the GF is Syd v Brisbane could be terrible.
Other three potential match ups are fine
I agree, personally wearing our home kit against the Cats is the better option regardless of it being played in Melbourne. The game being played in Melbourne is moot. Besides, the full home strip will provide the best differentiation for the match and without having to wear white shorts.
The AFL just needs to assign it - Geelong home guernsey, white shorts, and Brisbane Lions home guernsey, maroon shorts. Even footy supporters try and complicate this shit, saying Brisbane should wear their Fitzroy strip. They do the Fitzroy thing very well during the season, as do Sydney. This is a freakin major final and they're Brisbane Lions.
Home uniform with the dark maroon would have made more sense against GWS's orange.Prob needed to wear the fitzroy jumper as the best option
As long as Lions are in Maroon shorts it doesn’t matter. Why do Geelong wear their blue shorts in home games against Brisbane, but white against most other clubs?

Blue as their clash "cool colour" makes the most sense, rather than using warm colours like yellow when they already have red and maroon uniforms as their warm colours. The crazy thing is Brisbane literally have 4 different jumpers. Maroon, Red, Yellow and White and none really work, but I reckon Red (Fitzroy) with Blue shorts could work? Even with 4 different coloured jumpers a 5th one Blue or Navy would be best. The great thing for Brisbane is they all look great and the all instantly look like Brisbane, because they’re all the same.
Brisbane done have blue or red shorts to go with that jumper so had to be in white, therefore Geelong had to be in blueWhy do Geelong wear their blue shorts in home games against Brisbane, but white against most other clubs?

Similar to this?Imagine a 1960’s Fitzroy Brisbane guernsey? Maroon jumper (the 1960’s Fitzroy maroon was slightly different to current Queensland maroon), with slightly darker than royal yoke, white lion, and slightly darker than royal or even black shorts to be authentic to the era. This would be an amazing look.

You're correct, we only have maroon and white shorts in our kit line-up. Haven't had blue shorts since Fitzroy existed.I may be wrong but I believe Brisbane don’t actually have red or blue shorts to go with their Fitzroy jumper.
They always wear it with white shorts.
They could just wear the maroon kit, but they don’t.
If that's the case is anything wrong with wearing maroon shorts with the red away top. It wouldn't look that bad would it?You're correct, we only have maroon and white shorts in our kit line-up. Haven't had blue shorts since Fitzroy existed.
That combination would look absolutely horrendous. We're better just wearing our full home strip. If that's the case is anything wrong with wearing maroon shorts with the red away top. It wouldn't look that bad would it?
Agreed. Go the full maroon unless we can pull red or blue shorts from somewhere. Stupid that we don't have themThat combination would look absolutely horrendous. We're better just wearing our full home strip.

But GWS front is charcoal and the Maroon would be an issue with that.Home uniform with the dark maroon would have made more sense against GWS's orange.
