Maybe you should brush up on your Australian laws before you try to be a smart arse again.
There is no provision for freedom of speech in the Australian constitution. So, in fact we do not have any right to freedom of speech and the Government have the power to censor anything we say.
Just like we have the power to censor anything which is said on this board.
Understand now? Good. Off you go and tell your little mates how much you have learnt today.
The constitution would never have any individual rights as it is based on the rights of the States. It is true that Australia has no Bill of Rights however there are implied rights which amount to almost the same thing. The constitution is interpreted and hence is not as static as many think, there are over half a dozen example and precedents of the Constitution being used to ensure individual rights ranging from anti-censorship, defamation, political freedom etc. Further Australia is signatory to multiple treatise which implicitly set out our rights to freedom of speech. Although one may argue that adherence to international law is relative (not absolute) it is also fundamental to smooth operations, reputation etc.
For example:
"Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice."
- International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) - Schedule 2, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986
In fact, you may find that the censorship carried out on these boards contravenes many "laws" on the covenant on human rights and could be subject to litigation.....if one were to be such a tosser.
