Jones is a forward/Ruck isn’t he? Anyway your point is still valid, we have more than enough KPDs at the moment on the list, even with 2 (Cox) and 3 (McDonald) unavailable.
We need a player or two who can take pack marks and create up forward.Maybe Jackson will again provide that part of the puzzle up front.

Please explain this .
We have good players, but as forwards, do not kick goals, which is waht forwards are supposed to do.
At the moment, it is as bad as it is.
I look at freos current forward line stocks.... It's not bad.

Well go back to our 2012-15 finals era. Pav was full forward. Chris Mayne stood at 187 cm and was our centre half forward. Freo is the only club that Mayne would play at CHF. Every other club would have him as a 3rd tall or on the bench.

Walters and Ballantyne on the forward pockets. Rotating mids filled the forward flanks.

Look at freos current forward line. Luke Jackson is a KPF ruck. Taberner and Jye Amiss and Josh Tracey are all 194-198 cm each and can play CHF or full forward.

Switkowski, Fredrick and Walters can play on a forward pocket.

We got guys like Corbett and Sam Sturt who are 190 cm and can play on a forward flank too.

Can freos squad kick on average 12 goals a game? Yes they can. 4 goals from the tall forwards, 4 goals from the smalls, then 4 goals a game from the midfield. It's possible.

If this a 22 game season, 88 goals a season from 3 talls , 88 goals a season from 3 smalls and 88 goals from mids.

It's not hard seeing Luke Jackson kick 28 goals, Amiss kicked 34 goals and Tracey kick 26 goals.

Smalls? Walters kicks 30, Frederick kicks 30 and Switkowski kicks 28.

Mids? Well anyone to fill the 88 goals.
WOuld it surprise you to learn that we actually have more 190+ defenders now than in 2020?

Cox 195
Pearce 201
McDonald 196
Draper 197
Davies 196
Murphy 200
Chapman 193
Jones 199

Roughly 18% of the list.
Not a bad list. But a few of them are injured now.

I agree the list is not bad, but we need a couple of forwards that can take a grab and hit the scoreboard.Goals win matches.
Hopefully Jackson can provide at least a part of the goal kicking puzzle by taking marks up forward.
Our small DO NOT kick enough goals.Maybe A Freddy of BB have that bit of flair to have a crack at a snap ot two. The rest fiddle faddle with the ball and generally tend to lose it with excessive hand balls.
Switta in 73 games has kicked 46 goals.Freddy in 58 games has kicked 63.

You're forgetting Zac Clarke. It's a pretty big omission. He played a lot of games in that era as a for/ruck.

Oh, and Taberner's finished. It's sad watching him now. The once great craberner is a SHELL of a man.

Yes, Jacko back up forward will be one of the interesting aspects of the day. Not for WC.

We are missing Lachie Schulz. I wish he was a west aussie. Gutted when he left us.

He would be kicking 30-40 goals a year for us with a full 22-24 game season.

Lyon at least had charisma

Yep.

Zero chance of a comeback here because our coach is weak as piss and would rather use this as a teaching opportunity on our road to know where then rip them all a new ass hole.

Fantastic opportunity for JL here.
If he can’t coach us out of this mess for a win tonight the club has their answer. The club will know if he takes us forward or goes very soon, by the end of tonight.

It's actually ridiculous that we can never win when we are expected to win.

Give us a game we're we are the underdogs or 20 points behind. We are in for shot.

Hot favourites? And we are guaranteed to lose.

This is becoming JLos biggest issue. I know he talked about trying to address the mental issues of the group, but this outing proves the players can't cope with expectation.

How can someone who can barely string a sentence together address confidence? He speaks like a shy little boy.

You have just described mental weakness in high level sport, to a tee.
I agree 100%.
Any team that only wins when they are written off cannot be taken seriously and will never win anything meaningful in this competition.
