Agree to disagree. The best teams both kick goals and keep teams to low scores. Its a very limited view to say "we need to a coach that knows how to score"

We need a coach who knows how to win. The number of goals we kick is secondary

I might have to agree to agree with you. Which is exactly why Sumich should coach....he's a shoe-in. Longmuir is awesome, don't get me wrong and he's well loved by the club which would bring great culture...he should be our backline coach, we should pinch him off Collingwood anyway. But do we really want to bring in another defensive coach from a runner-up team as the main coach? It's bloody hard isn't it...we all got an opinion...we all just want to win....everyone loves a winner....everyone's got an opinion....I'm not sure any one of us could handle another 10yrs of almost's again for Freo....That's why I don't understand Non-attacking footy...you attack first and then attack to defend...so much harder for the other team to stop your momentum if you're bringing intelligent heat.

I’ll simplify it for you. Sumich is a sniper who leaked info to his mates in the press. To reward him with the coaching position would destroy any culture we have.

Attacking football is setting up your defensive zone so your players closest to the fat side are your flashy, quick players that can move it fast and score.

It works out well for us when we hit targets and don't hesitate

Mate he’s only got a defensive mind because Collingwood assigned him to team defence as his job... and so he does it and well for that matter.
Also forward coach at eagles for a number of years which I would of thought was an attacking mindset?

Thanks Mr Hardie. I had softened ever so slightly towards the ole spud farmer (he was still only about 8th in line for me) but now I’m off him again. We can do a lot better me thinks.

Yze really interests me because he's been doing it so long and he's hardly considered to be the next big coach. I wouldn't be mad if we picked him however, because all those years under Clarko must be worth something

Time under one of Clarko, Hardwick, Simpson, Bevo and possibly Fagan is crucial imo.

I can't see Ratten wanting to move to WA (family reasons). Voss played great, didn't coach well at Brisbane and I'd be worried about what we'd get from him considering he's at Port. Mitchell loves putting the knee up, I blame him for us losing the 2013 GF (plus Brian Lake)....he has been steadily improving his coaching skills.

Yep Mitchell would be at the top of my list but I don't think he's gettable, next for me would be JLo then Voss.
