The rumour behind the Woosha scuttlebutt is that his family already moved back to WA a long time ago and he wants to be back with them, so it's been mutually agreed that this is his last season with Essendon, who are very comfortable with letting him go.

Personally i'd like to see J.Lo get the top job and Woosha potentially looked in a Bondy/Belly 'director of coaching/director of football operations' type of mentoring role, but not as Freo's next senior coach. Fresh, young blood for the coaching job, please.
People are having different intrepretations of "mutually agreed" though

Where was ruttens strategies when the bombers have been getting overrun?
I know where Longy was when he helped stopped west coast scoring for a half of footy and had a big part of Collingwood get into top four with half the backline out injured.
most coaching doesn’t happen on game day. By then the players should know what to do. In that situation I expect the midfield is being smashed and the defense is copping it as a result, but it is a bigger issue.

Yes that’s it, although team defence isn’t the defenders it’s forwards mids defenders, every player when the opposition have the ball is what rutten/Longy are in charge off.

Mitchell.

Nobody available fits that bill. The hope is to groom an assistant to eventually checking those boxes. But as recent history shows unless the deficiencies of a football department are addressed, playing musical chairs with rotating coaches is only an act of posterity and doesn't change much.

We are currently caught between a rock and a hard place. On one hand we desire new faces and perspectives believed essential for understanding and keeping up with the pace of the modern game, but also throwing a rookie coach into our mess of an administration from recruiting to medical staff sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

EFA... After all, they are currently the only 2 assistants still with a contract I believe.

If you are looking for a reason to justify your dislike of Lyon then it is fine to accept information confirming your bias from whatever source you like, but that doesn't make it right. I choose to believe people who I trust, and that does NOT include the moronic glee club at 6pr or "someone who knows someone" at the club - how does that add any insight? My friend met Lyon as she was walking her dog one morning and the dog barked at Lyon - she swears the dog is a good judge of character so I can't ignore that piece of vital evidence.

I am sure Ross was not an easy guy to work with at times, but some of the best people I have ever worked with could be difficult at times. The vast majority of people who have been closely associated with him speak glowingly of him as a coach and a person. These are good people who know the guy, not anonymous sources or radio shock jocks.

So is it burying your head in the sand to ignore a biased WA media and an unnamed "source" or is burying your head in the sand ignoring the many, many good people who have Ross' back - quality people like Reiwoldt, Dal Santo, Pavlich and Fyfe. You go with Haggers, I'll go with Pav ;)
So you're saying me or my boss (who I've known for 12 years) is lying? Haha gee you're just the fan I'm talking about. I personally don't have any issues with Lyon so no confirmation bias at all (another assumption you're making). Your sources are all star players that played under Ross and I'm assuming they all come from them talking to the media (ie: you haven't personally sat down and talked to them). Confirmation bias much? Just because Haggers and Hardie etc. are flogs doesn't make all of their reporting necessarily wrong. Just because you don't want something to be correct doesn't make it incorrect.

Need to think outside the box. We want smart people who have experience running a club. Instead of going for assistant coaches alone, we should target GM’s who have coaching experience like Brisbane did with Chris Fagan.

Simon Lloyd. Currently GM at Geelong. Was a development coach/assistant coach at Freo during our successful period (2010-2015) Lloyd recently completed the AFL’s level four senior coaching program.

David Noble. Currently GM at Brisbane. Was an assistant at the Bulldogs. List manager and then GM of Adelaide. AFL pouch him to fix Brisbane. He hired Hawthorn’s GM Chris Fagan to be Brisbane’s head coach.

Noble would be great for our club. Top operator

Interesting one because, if I've got my story right, the AFL pretty much wrote the cheque to get him to Brisbane to help settle things down there. Now they're suddenly successful and flavour of the month, he might be gettable. No idea what sort of contract status he has, but his credentials are top shelf from little I know.

If we're talking coaching though, he's not been involved directly on that level for a fair while I think - more of managing footy dept. etc.

Justin will have three to four days off starting today or tomorrow.
Yeah exactly. The club would probably have to tread carefully when interviewing candidates that are involved with clubs in finals and show some respect. Still really hoping its J-Lo that gets the gig, new, young and fresh ideas with the modern game. I really enjoy the Collingwood game plan so hopefully he would bring some of that with him.

I actually want JLo for head coach, but am weary of how green he is in the top role.
I think we need a director of coaching appointed as well to guide him, especially in this 2 horse town.
Now who that would be I'm not sure, but preferably someone with experience in that position.

As long as its not some ancient relic like Walls, Malthouse, Eade or Wallace with outdated ideas t would be good.
