Why is this topic even being trolled? Kayo has every sport I like to watch for $25 a month and that value can't be beaten, unless you want to go the illegal route.

Yeah my head hurts. I'm probably going to push Foxtel to get a relatively cheap satellite service (the dish etc is already in place) but good luck to those who are going down the Kayo/illegal stream path which has never worked well for me.

That is 16USD or roughly $23. You also require a VPN, and a US based mobile number or SMS forwarding service. So I don't think it's fair to compare as $16 vs Kayo which is designed to be available to the Australian market.
There's an email option alongside the phone number sign up. It's small but it's there. Plus there's an app called textPlus if you want a us number for free.

It's a good service to compliment any sporting service anyway, I'm not comparing the 2.

I'm streaming live NBA games atm with NBA League Pass and it never drops out despite having a much higher quality stream than Kayo. I am of the belief that they are still tinkering with Kayo. I used Foxtel Now last year for the footy and it didn't drop out like Kayo has been doing for me at the moment.

Does League Pass really have a higher quality stream? I've always heard that's it's not very good. The Kayo 1080p stream is top notch, specially the Big Bash which seems to look even better than most of the other sports for some reason.

Maybe they are down sampling the 4k cameras used for foxtels coverage of the big bash? That would explain the better image, if it were using 4k recorded footage and down sampling/scaling it.

Does it have AFL on demand?
It's not a sport service like I mentioned. It's good if you're ditching foxtel and have a partner you need to keep happy for cheap. Like I mentioned. Not comparing the 2x like I mentioned, I mentioned about 5 other specific sporting streaming services to compare kayo with, and mentioned Philo is a great add on for anyone going for a sports streaming service and has a partner that likes the foxtel trash new housewives of NYC csi crime scene vanderpump little women.

I have a gen 2 Chromecast which means my Kayo is capped at 720p. So for me, NBA LP streams at a higher quality.

"Kayo is available on Chromecast Ultra or later models only."

That would mean Chromecast Ultra (released 11/2016) and Chromecast 3rd Gen (released 10/2018) but we have anecdotal evidence in this thread that Chromecast 2nd Gen (released 9/2015) works.

Yeah dunno what they're on about. Not sure anything from any service could ever be limited to a certain type of chrome cast. As stated the quality may differ and newer ones will deliver the highest possible. My mibox (official Android TV device as is the Nvidia Shield) has chrome cast built in and I can cast to it no problems in 1080p. A specific Android TV app is apparently in the works.

So I am a little concerned...
I have Kayo and relatively had no issues through chromecasting it to my Nvidia Shield (awaiting the Android TV app), however today while watching the WNBL GF, the buffering although infrequent occurred every now and then, and now whilst watching Adelaide United in the A-League the commetery and picture are not in sinc... is this a sign to come when footy season starts? or more likely a casting issue that wont be there once the app is released?

Appletv app has been great so i'd imagine an android tv app should be good as well.

Off-topic, but might want to update your signature? :p

Anyone attempted to cancel Foxtel and say they're using Kayo within the last week to get a cheaper rate? Been meaning to for a long time, but keep forgetting. With footy season close to starting, I really want to save the extra $. Cheers

I called and was prepared for their bullshit. I guess if you have a dialogue prepared you can just as easily get a discount.

Hello, how can we help you today? I want my Foxtel cancelled immediately.

Oh, why is that sir? I am about to permanently move overseas to live.

Is there anyone in your house that can take over the account? No, I live alone. Please cancel my account, thanks.

No further discussion was required.

I've been watching a bit of the AFLW through Firefox...anyone else reckon the colours look a little washed out?

I'm hoping it's just the broadcaster taking the cheaper equipment to these suburban grounds.

Also, it's annoying how you have to re-start the stream whenever it crashes and select "from start" then move to the point in the timeline you were up to, all the while fighting the website's desire to take you back to the beginning repeatedly. They need a resume function.

So if i have a samsung s9 or ipad and playing the footy through kayo i can chromecast it with chromecast ultra or 3rd generation onto my tv with good quality?

Is this possible. Or do i need a kayo app for android device?

Will it work okay on Ipad and then chromecast
