Would much rather see O'Brien from Undera in than Vourgalis. Quick, hard at it, applies defensive pressure and fits the youth policy. Church has been a loyal and talented Merrigum servant but has he pushed himself to play higher standard footy?

Logan probably would be playing GVL already but he played in some ordinary years at the Gum and is enjoying the turnaround. He gave senior KDL a go at 15 that was certainly a challenge. However I agree that to really develop his full game he would need to step up to GVL level. Not that we would want to see him go!

don't get me rong, Logan is a very good young player. but I don't think he has the speed to b a Gvl player. I rekn he will be a 300 game veteran of the league. :)

Got that right phantom, they certainly played well against the 'Slingers'..... I seen at least 5 tackles like this one in the first 30 seconds........ I thought this was an illegal action, and the umpires where there to protect the players, but they I think they had red n blue socks on.... Ardy have lost the 'hitman' mantel but i think I know who just resurrected it.....

Yep..was in top condition against United last week. I will be down at Geelong to watch the GV match but am sure it will be great at Tat and hope all players and teams involved have a great day.

Good: mix of youth and experience. Violet Town players availability, the side would be ordinary without them IMO. P.Arandt picked as captain, great servant of Avenel and the league. M. Coad in the backline, has been a whipping boy for many for years but all reports from the mainland is he's having a great season.

The not so good: No Murchison players! Lancaster also. Injuries to Spiro Vourgaslis and Danny Haysom. The backline looks very tall!! Adam Bourke, simply wouldn't have thought so..

Hard to judge selection too much as we can't know who trained and took it seriously. I hope the kids can get the job done

i am still shaking my head at the Bourke selection, just a joke IMO. Correct me if i am wrong but are the KDFL going in with 5 Rucks?
Breen,McCarthy,Bourke,Arandt,Osbourne. Could be a long day if the ball spends a bit of time on the ground.

The 4 clubs(Nag VT Und Stan) that have people at the selection table for this team seem to have a lot of players in 15 out of the 24 selected.

Good luck to the boys on the weekend lets hope that at 4pm we are no longer sitting at the botton of the VCFL table.
 
I'm scratching my head at a few of these selections. But I'll reserve my judgement until Saturday and the fact that I don't know what the selectors had to work with.

Hopefully, it is a side that can move us up a rank or two.

for all u blokes out there havn a dig at the selectors, for yr information they didn't have much to work with there was only 4 players miss out and that was gledhill, pedretti times 2 and Fitzpatrick from gig. there pulled out injured threw the week, Spiro, haysom and another one I can't remember. so u can only pick a team that wants to play?
