Re: Kyabram District FL

Trist would be a better ruckman than Jim Kelly, a better defender than Tim O'Keffe, who basically played as a back pocket in the GF, and could have eaily played the lead up role that Evan Murray did against the Swans, despite his bullants pedigree. I'm sure I could have pushed another few out as well
dont think he is in the same bracket as tim o keefe

Re: Kyabram District FL

Good to see that you working the angles there Doona, any luck with the Rushy job? :)

 Whilst I did show a little interest for last season had Scott not wanted to go again, I didn't know I was even a candidate for 2008  On another matter great to see Showy#1 paying us a visit :thumbsu:

Re: Kyabram District FL

Nicnat, you have absolutely no touch with reality if you think Stanhope would get within 4 to 8 goals of Nathalia, No disrespect to Stanhope and as I've said earlier i would rate them pretty close to the side I was coaching this year but they would not get within 15 goals of Nathalia.
The KDL finalists would destroy the bottom 4 or 5 sides in the MFL:rolleyes:, are you in disneyland at the moment? Cobram, Moama, Toc, Tongala and Numurkah are the bottom 5 sides, no one other than Stanhope would beat any of them, Stanhope may beat any of the bottom 4 on their day but would not get near Numurkah. Every single one of these sides have got GV/O&M reps ex AFL players, and some with VFL players.

Gostanhope, good to see you've come around on the Stanhope v Tongala argument, but saying they would beat the Tonny side from their last two years of GVL is well off the mark, remember they drew with Echuca in their last year and we lost 7 of our 9 contracted players when I took over, so all the club has done is probably built the side back up to where it probably was in their last year in the GV (but with mainly locals instead of imports). If the same side that played in 2005, played in the MFL in 2006 they would have been knocking on the finals door.

The comparison of Bevo with Tongala and Kyabram ruckmen is not what mainland was alluding too, he would probably start in the ruck in front of the two names you mentioned, but what was said was that he'd start in any GVL side in a key position which he and I know is off the mark.

Sorry for the people who only want to talk about KDL on this thread but only replying to what has already been brought up on here.
Who are these two? Lurch and Casy or Ryan Jones and Morgs that Bevo would start before?? And if it isn't Jones and Morgan, do you think he is as good as the them?? anyones opinion on this?

Re: Kyabram District FL

Good call showy, think personally he has his ambitions and his capabilities mixed up..

Coffees getting cold Doona...

$hit Jac forgot all about that :thumbsu: Now you've reminded me I will have to pull me finger out

Re: Kyabram District FL

You need to read the posts a bit more carefully before you reply

l personally dont think that Trist will leave Stanhope,so therefore as for his ambitions,l dont think he has any, also as for his capabilities,he is a good ruckman in the KDFL but the other blokes have the score on the board, they have played at the best country level in one of the best sides seen for years. The only way to make a call is for Trist to have a go at GV,until he does there is no argument..

He has ambitions alright Jax bac and thats to win back to back Premierships in 08 with Stanhope.

And good luck to the bloke, plays for an exceptional and successful club, something our club strives to be like but some posts on this thread saying he is better than certain guys in the Seymour lineup is nonsense..

agree jax, argument a little old now. pretty sure he trained a couple of times with ky last pre season and didnt last long, so any argument about trist playing at a higher level cant even be spoken about until he can atleast last a pre season.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Must be a slow news week lads. In reference to me not even making it through a preseason in ky is total BS. I did train there a few times while I was working out what I wanted to do, but I decided to stay at the mainland mainly because of a mate that was coming back from melbs. I injured myself pretty early in the piece too. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Whats the word out at tigerland tav? Who will be talking over there? I smell a scandal.....

Big changes happening out at rushy from what i hear with some good players moving on.

Re: Kyabram District FL

How insightful.

If Rasmussen is leaving Rushie where's that put T.Perry?
The rumour I heard was that Perry and Rasmussen were Coach and Assistant for 2008.
With Hansen and Rasmussen on the move, thats a fair hole to fill.

Are Rushy entering a rebuilding phase? Sounds like things might be a bit lean at Ironbark for the coming season.
