Re: Kyabram District FL

Say as much as anyone on the MFL site fencesitter, as you may see not too many people write on there though. I have an interest in all leagues in the area as I am a fanatical football follower, and as I still live in Stanhope and support them when I can obviously I will write about them. Who is your club fencesitter and what have you got to say about them?
Fair enough Hank. In relation to your question of which team I follow, I'm just a washed up old backman who has been around a bit.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Pretty close there Hank, with more time on my hands due to changes at our bussiness and alot of encouragement from the players and club, made the decision a little while back to have another crack, bring on 2008...

On a sad note, the Violet Town football club would like to pass on its condolences to the Kanters family and the Avenel football club on the passing of Scott.a great footballer and a champion young bloke who will be sorely missed by all..
Hi jax, who would you rate as the better players you had to contend with this year as an opposition coach?

The players that caused me greef would be Trist,(hard running ruckman with good skills),,Lowe (a hard running midfielder who smashed us in the finals) Tav Perry(ran riot in the forward line the second time we played them) and Molisak (slippery little sucker also a cheeky one as well)There are alot more but these ones stand out to me.... Cheers

Thanx jax! very interesting and would have to agree with you from what i know of them players. Seen the Ardy game at Stanhope and thought Lowe was quite amazing. Are you keeping your list together? Walker,Mills, ect.

Will probably lose a few,Marguglio,T Saker,Moore,Moffat are all gone,Mills , Macak are undecided and a few going overseas so alot of rebuilding is required... Like alot of other clubs we have alot of irons in the fire reguarding recruiting , some very positive, some not so sure as yet but l still think we will be up there with the best..

Re: Kyabram District FL

When are clubs starting pre-season?

Nagambie FC having a Meet the Coaches Day this Sunday (25th November). Many new & (possible) recruits will be in attendance also. Get along if you are wanting in on the Lakers-wagon in 2008!

We begin training on Sunday December 16th.

Re: Kyabram District FL

What do the readers think about his appointment?
better still what do the Avenel players think, can he recruit the required players to help the club take the next step. You would have to say that Jace Carton is very stiff not to be reappointed so is he staying or moving on?l believe that a further7-10 quality players are required for this club to be a force come September....

Re: Kyabram District FL

Heard today that Rob Bennett from YCW in the Loddon Valley League has signed at Stanhope, can anybody from Stanhope confirm this?

Re: Kyabram District FL

Confirmed, how well do u rate him howmuch?

Played with him the last two years at yc. I rate him very highly, great player wheather onball or half back, hard at it and uses ball well also really high fitness level. He was a really good leader around the club and fantastic club person along with his wife and young family. I know all at yc are very disappointed at losing him.

He played at North Bendigo before coming to yc, I think he won 3 or 4 B&F's there. (Should of won ours in 2006, my opinion finished 3rd). Speaking to people from north they are disappointed that he is not returning to them next year.

So as you can tell I rate him very highly and he will only strengthen a already strong Stanhope side:thumbsu:.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Sorry forgot to add he finished 4th in league medal in 2006. Just checked clubs AGM report from that year:thumbsu:
