Re: Kerr on the market.

not sure if any of what I heard on 96FM just before 6 is correct but Barich said that negotiations had broken down and Kerr is now on the trade table...its running in the sports segment on 7 news in about 10mins.

Re: Kerr on the market.

What an unbelievable train wreck we have become  Never in my worst nightmares would i have thought all 3 of our holy trinity would be at different clubs in 2009 after our 06 glory.

Just unbelievable. Not quite as bad as losing to Sydney in the 2005 GF by 4 points, but the last 12 months have been the worst in our history.

Re: Kerr on the market.

There is no way Kerr will be at west coast next year

Please bookmark this post because this is exactly how it will transpire.

Sometime just before or during trade week, Kerr will site personal reasons, and quit the west coast eagles, and threaten to stand out of football for a year if he is not traded.

Eagles will spin the story as rubbish and insist that if they do not get value, they will NOT trade kerr.

On the 11th hour every body will come to their senses and kerr will be traded ... probably to essendon. For Essendons 1st round pick and player like Courtney Dempsey.

one thing is definite . There is no way kerr will be at west coast next year. The problem for the eagles is that everybody thats anybody in the afl knows it.;)

You idiot, we are talking about West Coast not Essendon's second team that wears purple and is located in Perth.

West Coast are still clearly pissed off about Judd, and now want something a little bit extra for Kerr so they dont get burnt again.

Re: Kerr on the market.

LOL WCE wont deal with Carlton due to Judd Deal.
We know they wont deal with Colliewobbles due to the Woosha/Malthouse reason.
Looks like he will be going to Essendon if he Goes.

West Coast will deal with whoever offers the best deal to them and Kerr. This is business.

I don't know where you get this idea from that they hate Collingwood and Carlton. We wanted to deal with Carlton last year as they could offer the most. He allegedly wanted Collingwood initially. Everything that happened in between was each side just trying to get the best deal possible. Let's face it, there is no way Collingwood could have topped what we got without selling the farm.

We have dealt with Collingwood in the past, even with Malthouse over there. Although Worsfold may hold a grudge against Malthouse, if he gets a worse deal for us because of his personal grudge, I would be pissed and so should all Eagle supporters.

Re: Kerr on the market.

there was a thing on ten sport tonight saying that if kerr wants to go, the eagles wont deal with carlton

Re: Kerr on the market.

The eagles don't like dealing with collingwood. Neither do most clubs. Their trading strategy just relies on Brinkmanship and wasting time untill the friday of trade week and backing that the other club will buckle first.

I was sceptical untill now but it is looking fairly clear that Hutchy and co may have been on to something all year. It's risky and i don't think we will get what we are asking for in terms of draft picks.

But at the end of the day, given that GC17 can take an uncontracted player off every club this needs to be settled this year. Can't take the risk of losing him for nothing next year. Either sign him long term or trade him in the next 8 weeks.

The fact that the eagles have taken the stance that they have makes me think that they have some kind of idea of what they can get for Kerr and from who already. They must have a plan.

You really think he'll go to play in the TAC cup in 2010? Somehow I think he'll be over the age limit...

GC will be after uncontracted players in the summer of 2010/11, to play in 2011, so a little while off.

It's been horrible hasn't it? Though there isn't anything you can do if a player doesn't want to be at the club. Just move them on and try and get the best deal for the club.

If it is Kerr's intention to jump ship he probably should have listened to Braunie's farewell speech to learn what it is to be a great clubman and not just a brilliant but selfish & erratic footballer. The fact that Braun, a native victorian, seems to bleeds blue & gold much more than Danny boy speaks volumes in my book. After all the flack the club has copped in the past few years on his account leaving at this point would be a low act indeed

Re: Kerr on the market.

how bout your pick 5, jetta and houli for Kerr + our #36?

houli is a gun in the making, would flourish under vossy and in the subi spaces.

So why would Essendon trade a 20 year old gun for a 26 year old gun?

Not gonna happen sorry guys. All of our good WA boys including Gumbleton, Jetta, Myers and Reimers have all signed new 2 year deals earlier in the year (Reimers in the last week) and are all VERY highly rated by our club. Forget Essendon trading with you for Kerr, it WONT happen, unless its in a trade involving Lovett and our 2ND round draft pick (which you guys obviously wouldn't be happy with). Even then- I'm not sure why we'd get rid of one shady character only to get another one ;)

Lovett and a second rounder

Are you on something?

What about the part that I put in brackets didn't you understand or did you justmiss that primary school lesson about reading comprehension???

Re: Kerr on the market.

I dont want to weigh into the Kerr debate too much but.... the outworking's of kerr staying or going will, IMO, greatly influence the rest of our trading and drafting this year.

If he goes i can see us going all out youth. Maybe trading Seaby and pick 20 or 36 to the Tigers for another late 1st rnd early 2nd round. If he stays i think we will go for youth with the first 2 picks the try to snag one or two established players with some of our other picks and maybe via the PSD.

I think you are 100% correct, but unlike what most people think, the club is more keen to trade him than Kerr is to leave. Kerr really only wants to leave if he can go and play with his chum Juddy (honestly it is just embarrassing listening to Kerr gush over Judd all the time). But Eagles won't deal with Carlton after last year, and besides Carlton don't have the firepower in this year's draft. I think he will go to Essendon for 2 top 10 draft picks (ie, No. 5 in this year's draft and either David Myers or Leroy Jetta from recent years). In the long run, this would be a great deal for West Coast.

I think the club are keen to move him on - they just want to make sure they get top value for him, and I thgink they will do OK out of this trade. Kerr is a brilliant footballer but a complete peanut of a person who has been nothing but a liability this season. I even heard him joking about the Scott West headbutt on radio - how he could demand a 4 or 5 year deal with that attitude is beyond me. Hopefully, he will be at Essendon next year and we will get Essendon's first pick in this year's draft (No. 5) and their first pick from last year's draft (David Myers - No. 7??). Not sure if Essendon would do that trade though.

Re: Kerr on the market.

Rance + 8 for Kerr.

It's Rance's spiritual place to be at Subi. It's s footy tragedy he's not at WCE.

Our fault for not keeping his pop long enough, just as it's a belated tragedy that we let Wally Matera go early...Foresight isn't as clear as hindsight unfortunately.

Here's hoping Graham's and Wooden's boys aren't good enough for us to regret not giving them 100 games:D

houli would never repeat NEVER leave melbourne. know him personally. the guy has a huge family and friend base. he wouldnt give it up and come here. that is why wc didnt pick him up in the draft as they knew he wouldve been disgruntled and unhappy.
