Not really, people are just responding to Sheedy's assertion that all gay people are beautiful human beings who don't do the crap that heterosexuals do. In the end, they're very caring people which is obviously unlike all heterosexuals, or as Sheedy wants you to believe.

According to this thread and the gay marriage debate in this country yes. We are an awfully conservative country. Go to Europe and even the States and homosexuality and marriage doesn't bother anyone. It's sad how behind we are.

as for describing gay people as great because they don't do the things heterosexuals do... you only have to spend a nominal amount of time reading up on the subject that you soon realise there are transphobics within both homosexuality and feminism, for example. a silly comment that borders on being patronising. i didn't think homosexuality needed any sort of justification.
