Do you identify as a conservative?
On some issues like immigration/negative gearing/investment more right, on some things like healthcare/education/welfare more left.

I don't blindly cheerlead for a political team, watch sky news, or any of the boring tropes the regulars like to claim about anyone who dare disagree with them.

Where does the anger stem from - investment or education?

Surely it’s not healthy.

Really? What does the left stand for in this point of time?
How have they managed to mess it up so bad? When and why did they abandon the working class and throw them to the wolves?

The left used to stand for the underdog, the downtrodden and the marginalized. Not anymore.
I have been saying it for sometime: internationally, we are about to shift hard to the right (we are already truth be told).

The left have long abandoned the working class. They have been sacrificed at the alter of high immigration, high house prices and smashed wages.

Someone explain to me how the left can be for environmental sustainability and net zero while simultaneously running all time immigration numbers? Ireland, Canada and Australia are leading the way in this regard.

The usual apologists will come in here and abuse me as an LNP stooge (never voted for them and never will).
I will be called a racist who "hates brown people". (a disgusting slur that was levelled at me on these very boards).

I mean, the national bank of Canada has just released a report stating that Canada has entered a "population trap" - for the first time in modern history. Quite an achievement when you consider that this scenario is normally reserved for "third world countries". Way to go, Justin Trudeau. Thankfully, Trudea is getting smoked in the polls. Canadians don't like him anymore. Great hair though.

Trump is making a storming run home and it is great to see the teeth gnashing and general bewilderment of the usual suspects on the left as they ponder the situation: "the savages are uneducated", "misinformation" etc, etc.

But let's cut to the case.

Australia.

Albo - what has he done of any note since he was elected?

Homelessness up!
Alboinflation - up!
Real wages - down!
General well being - down!

The general gist on these boards takes the cake. Murdoch! Misinformation! The savages aren't educated.

Carry on.

Putting aside that Albo and his govt clearly are not 'from the Left', this is just another rant about immigration.

Labor isn't "left".

The most despicable thing about the Albanese government is their feigned concern about inequality and caring for the downtrodden. While at the same time, pursuing policy that smashes the people they pretend to care about.

Eventually people will wake up to the inherent incompetence of the Albanese government, if they aren't already. After all, most of the main players of the ALP are the dregs left over from Rudd's mess more than a decade ago.

Moves are afoot in Ireland, Canada and America. As the population moves against progressive governments who have smashed living standards.

Socialism saves the world after every stockmarket crash.

Wealth continues to be concentrated in fewer and fewer hands but somehow the working class are worse off because of immigration?

100%

The report in Canada talked of a population trap. Have a read. The working class are getting crushed at the altar of keeping house prices high.

Canada and Australia have the biggest housing bubbles currently.

Trump has been successful in capturing the rust belt vote. I think I read two out of three non college educated whites voted for him. Over here, most analysis suggests these are the same sort of people who sunk the Voice referendum. These are people who feel overlooked, and Dutton is gunning for them.

I doubt the Libs can capture them to anywhere near the same extent (we don’t have the same hot button issues like guns and abortion to polarise people), but I’ve no doubt they’re frustrated with Labor.
