looking through the points over a number of leagues the KDFNL is no different to most in that a 10-15 point difference across the league isnt going to even the comp. Rushy running about middle of the road on late 20 points and longwood needing 58 points at a guess to reach their level . Such is the variation in circumstances each club has to deal with .
With a state wide cap of 50 and a extra 30 points for the bottom sides to compete with some of the middle of the road clubs ,it would leave the middle teir clubs or those above without enough points to field a side .
I get the reason for capping it at 50 to gain consistancy over the state, but it is coming at the expense of the vunerable. lower placed remote clubs in district comps.
Be interested to get everyones hyperthetical view on how many extra points those below rushy/ murch would need to match them and likewise how many points those above would need to loose to be equal to those sides who are middle of the ladder ATM.

In the Sunraysia league the teams in the finals last year have 38 points. The teams outside the four have a few more with 44 being the max ( I think)
The league here has had a few years with the points system and generally are accepting of it.
The football situation is probably a bit different here with the isolation. However all teams have strong junior sides (200 juniors is not unusual) numbers wise. I'm not saying that some sides don't struggle with numbers at times but all sides are fielding U 18s.
It's interesting to note that the one team that's is pushing the numbers limit has just lost 2 in a row and this week they play the favourites.

Who wins this week lads ?
The first 3 games could go either way I reckon ! Especially with the weather predictions for the day. Should be 3 good competitive games anyway. For me I think
Longwood of by 26
Merrigum by 6
Murch 15
Nagambie 18
Tally 23
Avenel 65

Avenel signed another 3 from Melbourne look out that could be enough to see them win there first flag since 1994

Would love to see an Avenel nagambie grand final. Might be more like scenes out of fight club in the first quarter. And should be a bumper crowd.
I think they play each other last round also at Avenel. Might have to get along and watch that one!

Boy it's been a while since I've seen conditions like today I don't know what other grounds were like but lancys ground was just saturated!

I just noticed a clearance for a big red headed full forward back to Nagambie. Think his knee is pretty shot, but he could be handy in a pocket.

Would still be a nice target up there for the lakers. Will take the best defender every time.
Alex o'reillys clearance denied though?
I did catch a glimpse of merrigum and gig on the weekend, great to see the smooth mover hit some form in his first game back..
And some more mail this morning I have heard from down south at Avenel, is there may be a mass exodus on hand. An altercation between players and an assistant coach. Don't quote me on it though.
Wouldn't be good to see the swans topple off the perch after only 8 rounds!

Hope your mail is incorrect Buddyhell, wouldn't be good at all !!!!

Just had a phone call from a good source saying kasey Duncan could miss the rest of the season he might get back for the finals can any 1 confirm?

Looking more and more like a Lakers vs Avenal GF with these 2 sides starting to really gap the rest of the competition with the lakers easy the best side I have seen so far Stanny traveling ok and will push either side on their day but then there is a gap after that top 3 where up to five maybe six sides are vying for the 4, 5, and 6 spots interesting to see how it panes out !!!

Hey Warna, Did Harris get injured? If so how bad?
Injured his knee on quarter time. Didn't feel that it was catastrophic, hoping that it might just be cartilage but definitely going to consult a specialist. Also lost Adz Harrap with a hamstring around the same time and newly returned Crackpipe with a dislocated shoulder just after half time so no bench for most of the final two quarters. All good excuses but Murch brought their A Game and it's pretty handy.

Rattray in, and if any truth about Kasey being out (lets hope not) the sway of power could lie with the Lakers.

Hearing on the grape vine that he has broken his wrist or hand against Tally?
