looking through the points over a number of leagues the KDFNL is no different to most in that a 10-15 point difference across the league isnt going to even the comp. Rushy running about middle of the road on late 20 points and longwood needing 58 points at a guess to reach their level . Such is the variation in circumstances each club has to deal with .
With a state wide cap of 50 and a extra 30 points for the bottom sides to compete with some of the middle of the road clubs ,it would leave the middle teir clubs or those above without enough points to field a side .
I get the reason for capping it at 50 to gain consistancy over the state, but it is coming at the expense of the vunerable. lower placed remote clubs in district comps.
Be interested to get everyones hyperthetical view on how many extra points those below rushy/ murch would need to match them and likewise how many points those above would need to loose to be equal to those sides who are middle of the ladder ATM.
In the Sunraysia league the teams in the finals last year have 38 points. The teams outside the four have a few more with 44 being the max ( I think)
The league here has had a few years with the points system and generally are accepting of it.
The football situation is probably a bit different here with the isolation. However all teams have strong junior sides (200 juniors is not unusual) numbers wise. I'm not saying that some sides don't struggle with numbers at times but all sides are fielding U 18s.
It's interesting to note that the one team that's is pushing the numbers limit has just lost 2 in a row and this week they play the favourites.
