Stuie Day 5 games, played there last year, but did he get cleared at the start of the season and then return meaning 6 not 3? Col Harvey 5 games

Is the 6 game rule, clearance after Rd1, does it matter if you haven't played for any other club in that year? And is it when the player is cleared, or when the clearance is put in, as the clearance was put in in April 2015 by the website
