I know of the cases in Merrigum and if what you’ve read are the same cases, it’s one family. Which is not great for them but better than 3 random cases dotted everywhere. I think 4 or maybe 5 of the family positive. Hopefully it comes and goes for them.

If the KDFL went down this road what would everybody think? We have played 10-11 games. Lancaster were very impressive in the seniors with Melbourne based players unable to play would anybody beat Lancaster?
Didnt play Avenel, they beat us with Mills, McLay & Orr missing, we had Mark Blake, Anthony Haysom, Blake Fothergill, Tom Black, Jackson Hutton, Mick Shiels, Brayden Biggs & Jono Moore missing. Billy Ryan & Zac Cerrone got hold of us, Hutton & Biggs would’ve been our first choice matchups for them, O’Niel controlled the ruck, add Blake & Moore. Plus 3 of the best players in the comp at some stage in the past few years in B.Fothergill, A. Haysom, M.Shiels, and another mid in Tom Black. Pretty good case to say we’d go ok.
End of the day they have done all they can do and deserve to be a top the ladder, but I think even the smart minds at Lancy would say that they don’t deserve to be handed a premiership cup without playing a final.

I have no doubt Avenel with their Melbourne based players would have givin lancy a real go for their money not to forget a very good Nagambie outfit who know what finals are all about and we will probably never know what damage Stanny or Murch may have done

Agree with that last bit Hank Premiership cup to be handed out only to to sides that have prevailed under finals pressure wich is vastly different than home and away games

At the moment it's called minor premiers
There needs to be some acknowledgement to give closure and recognition to the most successful team of the season. Premiership cup and flag are won in finals, so Hilly’s idea of Minor Premiership good. Place an asterisk beside it so we can remember in 20 years time what a crap season it was, but at least it was better than 2020. Think in the VFL in the First World War they only had 4 teams and still played finals. Fitzroy won the wooden spoon and premiership in the same year. Wonder if they had their time again, would they have just avoided finals and awarded a minor premiership???
