Did anyone notice in the second quarter Lenny Hayes grab the umpires arm when arguing against a decision in Collingwoods forward line.

Was very similar to what Shaw did last year, and he got a couple of weeks from memory.

will be an interesting one - but i think the intent will be what exonerates him.

from memory it was more of a mechanism from Hayes to protect the umpire from backing into someone, rather than to gain his attention which he already had.

there was zero malice in it IMO

Shaw was trying to pull the ump back to him - Hayes wasn't like that at all - though it wasn't as jovial as say the Hodge one

A major error of judgement tarnishing an otherwise good game by Leonard.

I clearly saw the incident and couldn't understand why a 50m penalty was not given. It happened right in front of the St Kilda cheersquad so perhaps self preservation was a consideration.

Based on precedent he should get 2 weeks downgraded to 1 with an early plea.
