What is his trade value as an uncontracted fringe player?

Will our 4th rounder (currently #64) get it done?
Noting we don't have a current 3rd rounder, and WB need points for Darcy.

(Yes, i know pick 64 is f all points overall, but its all we got)
Ideally we'd try get slightly more. Once you've done the Cerra trade, you may get a late pick back that you can add to any Young trade, even if we had to send a future 4th your way.

Realistically, he's not worth much more than an early 4th at best.

Yes I’m aware

He’s currently on the senior list so he would have to get delisted then relisted come rookie draft as you can no longer just automatically move to rookie list anymore

another club could pounce first

also more to my point is he would know he’s clearly more valued elsewhere and would choose to go
The way he was being spoken about, seemed like he was already on the rookie list. My bad.
The part about value and which list you’re on though, guess it depends on the individual. Schultz stayed on the rookie list over taking a main list spot elsewhere. Granted it’s one example, just don’t think it makes too much difference.

We’ve completely butchered his development. Started forward, then went back then kept swapping positions in the senior side, then played ruck against bigger ruckman. Absolutely butchered.

Not the clubs fault he is soft. 3 years ago he was miles ahead of Gardner now he isn't good enough to tie his shoe. development is not put enough on the players

Not a soft player but he is struggling to learn how to play in the seniors team. Being a swing man is a lot tougher.

With moving Talia on and losing Kelly the Crows should try and get Young home. He would get a game on the 3rd tall every week.
I feel like they should be targeting someone with more offensive prowess than Young.

Lewis Young wont be a step up over who they already have in Butts, Murray, Mcasey, Borlase.
You've obviously seen a lot more of Young than me but I remember him as a guy who could mark a ball but a terrible kicking action. I don't rate Murray or McAsey at this stage they need to get better with age - Borlase is shorter. Butts is a cracker, don't know where they found him to get him on the rookie list.

Borlase is 2 cm taller than Kelly is. Talia never played this season. Besides Crows dont need a player like Young. If anything they need defenders with good kicking & composure. Most of their losses came from turning the ball over in the back half.

Yeah but Young is 10cm taller than Murray and Borlase and he's 20cm taller than Brown. McAsey and Butts have size and Young is taller than both of them too. You are not getting Young for his kicking you are getting because of his size.

Which makes him the wrong player to recruit. They have a distinct lack of weapons out of the back half, apart from a near 30 Brodie Smith and Wayne Milera, who has played 2 of the last 39 games. They need an offensive half back, whether they be a medium or small. Don't need another tall right now.

They are trying to make Jones & Hamill the offensive half backs, McPherson as the lock down small back to take over from Brown. If McAsey was ready to get regular games I would agree somewhat but other than McAsey and Butts all other defensive talls are only 190-193cm. What i do agree with its not a priority because their midfield and small forwards should be their priority.

But at least he’s shown he can play all positions so provides flexibility

now just needs to lock in what his best position is for the long term
