Is this bloke really worth all the trouble? The story so far would suggest that he's in a fair deal of trouble to the extent that after his next appearance in the Alice Springs MC he's no sure thing to return to Melbourne. Given his level of fitness and lack of match practice the chance of him playing for Melbourne before that date would be doubtful.

Yes, but that was already the case given the delays with the wrist and the fact they've had to redo the op. In fact, he's been doing lots of running and one would presume cardio etc. work in the gym - but no ball work or match work at all.

Also, I wouldn't be presuming anything re the outcome of the case. Healey apparently touched on it on his TV program today, as there are huge discrepancies between the two sides of the story, and Liam completly denies the allegations against him.

Well, you would wouldn't you - but as a for example, Jurrah has always been reported as a non-drinker.

We shall have to wait and see.

Jurrah might have been a non drinker. Despite Daytrippers ignorant posts it is a fact that there are more teatotallers in the indigenous community than the rest. The problem with indigenous drinking is that alcohol isn't a part of their culture like it is ours and alcohol was only ever made in a weakened natural form to be drunk in ceremonies. They don't have it as part of their culture to have a couple after a days work or with dinner. Drinking is heavily frowned upon, much like harder drugs are in our community.

However, I know for a fact that every chance he's had this off season he's been drinking it up in Alice. My nephew, who is is skin brother, told me and had a fairly disappointed tone in his voice. Even prior to this even I had warned Melbourne supporters that based on that I wouldn't expect too much out of Jurrah this year. That said Cousins won a Brownlow while he was using drugs so some people have an amazing constitution.

Ted's point, which is illustrated constantly on the politics board, is if you are not a ridgy-didge, white Australian, you are basically sub-human.

A complete and unfounded assumption on your part, it's people like you who try to introduce racial overtones into threads that should be banned from BF.
Proud Bogan eh! I guess that says it all.
PS: I don't contribute to the Politics board.

How is mine an ignorant post ?
Are you denying that alcoholism and substance abuse is not an issue for Aboriginals in remote/rural communities?
Or violence and sexual assault for that matter ?

Yes or No please.

Thats basically the way i see it.

We have a footballer who is off injured and gets drunk. That is bad enough in itself and reason enough for a guy to get sanctioned from his club. The attack on top of that is enough to get him booted.

Im amazed they have let him back to train. At the very least i would have told him to have a week or 2 away from the club to have a think about drinking while injured. Come back after that and we will let the courts decide about the rest.

What? People who get caught going out and drinking or other silly things dont get banned from training, they get match bans.

What does the club/player gain for lost weeks of training, nothing.

Not anymore. And why is that?

Defining people by their username is an unfounded assumption.

Are you 38, and is your name Ted?

Silly by Jurrah (young and in a bad place mentally) and vindictive by Maguire who knows VERY well the rules and codes around such things.

Collingwood v Melbourne amps up again.

Because it's oversubscribed with people like you with an unrealistic view on racism.
I would realistically presume that if your username is what it is then you would identify with it. In my case the 38 is relevant and my name is Ted.
By the way I have an Indigenous connection, have you? However, that is of no relevance to this thread just like most of your contributions to it.

Is an indigenous wife, (deceased) and 3 surviving children plus 45 years living in remote WA enough of a connection for you?

Unrealistic views on racism are in the main held by those with an unrealistic view on life and humanity. You fit that bill perfectly.

Yes

If you want to resort to personal abuse and unsubstantiated claims and accusations then you really should refrain from posting anything at all because your comments are worthless.

It isn't personal abuse if it's true.

Your views on this subject and muslims are well documented on this site.

You just spew bile and vitriol wherever you go.

You have made an assuption that he is already in a fair bit of trouble, which completely disregards the legal tenant of the presumption of innocence and made a judgement call on his fitness base when he is actually suffering from a wrist injury.

So, I am sensing here, that it is you who has provided sfa to this thread.

Again, it is just another excuse for you to grind your axe.
