Thank God.
They haven't played at the 'gabba since 2000 and it has royally p*ssed me off living up here.
First time since 1999 that Brisbane and Collingwood have played each other twice in the regular season.

am i going crazy or is that 6 games in melbourne plus 1 down the highway in geelong??

holy sheesh! with 12 gabba games, that makes 19 home games for us... thats a little unfair for everyone else...

hehehehehe...

At least 19 of these games are easily winnable with the exception of Port at AAMI & Magpies at the G....only one visit to Subi & AAMI is reasonable. SCG shouldn't be a problem.

All in all a fair draw for the Lions next year it depends on injuries & available list now

GO LIONS 2003!!;)

Collingwood tends to always lift against the Lions & Buckley always gets 30 odd touches...plus if Collingwood gets flogged in RD 4 they might look for revenge:D

There are more pluses than minuses so overall, I likeit:)

Pluses - Only one trip to SA &WA each.
- Only one back to back road trip (Rounds 6 & 7)
- a Friday nighter at the Gabba (at last)
- although I am a Brisbanite(or is that Brisburnian? ), the 7 games in Victoria is good(or at least better) for the Club's Melbourne supporters.
- Round 21 v Geelong guarantees us of another Brownlow (must be Lappo's turn :D )

Minuses - the only one I can think of is that we get one game (only) against sides that finished 3,6,10,13,14,15 and 16 in season 2002.

In terms of the sides we play, I guess that means it could be considered a "tough" draw.

Does anyone know how many of the 13 Saturday games are scheduled to be day matches?

1 win by 3 pts since 1997 - that's lifting?

True, although it's hard to predict how teams will perform based only on their previous year.

No friday night games (1 thursday night)
Back to back roadies in RNDS 2&3, 6&7, and a triple RNDS 9, 10 & 11. If we are in good shape at the 1/2 way mark we have a good home run with 3 Double weekends (1 split by week off) at the gabba and no consecutive road trips.

I think it is a great draw to get the attention on someone else early and then come home strong at the business end yet again

The only minus for me is the Thursday night game at Easter - this has traditionally been a trip to Melbourne for an all out footy fest, Thursday night, Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon!

What am I going to do with myself for the Easter Holidays!!!!

collingwood should be tough

the collingwood matches should be tough because they put up such a great battle in the grand final.
should be interesting.
the thusday night match at night should be good, im up here in brissie and it should be good.
