If it was a Lions player and if the whole story is true I can't see anything past a fine and being kicked out of the leadership group (if it was Rich or any player in the leadership group) happening. It's a stupid act if true but can't see any serious charges or anything coming out of it. CANT WAIT for caroline wilson on footy classified to demand the players head and for mad mondays to be banned.

Don't disagree with any of that Pobt. But not all that happens to someone with a disability is about disability. If disability is made the focus from an incident that could have happened to anyone, then I think it is opportunistic and unfair to make the disability both subject and object. For all we know the reason the boys were running is because their mates were already waiting in the taxi. the initial reported facts do not correspond with the mans own account.

If this "Story" is found to be completely false (Which I'm sure it will be). Does that mean he (The accuser) would be dragged over the coals (unintentional Pun) and deserve the same punishment some posters offered the "apparent offender"....? As these allegations are very slanderish towards Richy's reputation!!

I couldn't imagine Leigh Matthews lining up to inflict any pain to a wheel-chaired individual...?
Or the individual paying any kind of retribution to Rich and the Lions....?

Key facts, one that is believable and two that are not.

1) Rich would have Flexed his guns (Very believable!!!)

2) Rich doing anything the accuser is alleging. (Very Unbelievable!!!)

3) Rich/ or anyone accompanying him not being able to come up with something a little better than "In your face Wheelchair" ? (Very Unbelievable!!!)

If the alleged victim's story is correct, then the player was yelling 'wheelchair, wheelchair, wheelchair' before it.

The perpetrator has made this about the wheelchair.

It's absolutely fine for us to be skeptical about what is being reported, but I really don't believe it is okay to play down the incident based on what the victim has been reported as saying. This is very serious.

This is about the treatment of people with disability.

A quick google search reveals the lawyer's past. I'm not saying that it means it's not true (or parts of it are not correct), but I'm thinking I was right to initially view this with skepticism. I'm not saying nothing occurred, but it may be a case of opportunism.

Knowing this lawyer, I suspect you're on the money TFB.

For these criminal lawyers, publicity like this is gold - it's not like Partridge is actually paying him to do anything, it's just a vehicle for self-promotion.

Not sure how flexing your muscles shows you 'know who they are' except to indicate that you can see they have guns of some sort?

The other thing running toward calling wheelchair could be that he saw the wheelchair coming down a rough section of hill looking like it was going to go over runs over to help save the guy and push him to safety who proceeds to take offence at being considered incapable of doing it himself.

Mind you that doesn't fit in with "I was there and saw nothing along those lines" we got from Rich either...

League boss Andrew Demetriou has told Melbourne radio station 3AW the AFL is looking into the matter.
"There's not enough information at the moment, I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions," Demetriou said.
"What's interesting about this story is it happened on Sunday and it's Friday. Normally these things would come out within 24 hours as you would know.
"I mean it's pretty hard to keep these things quiet. But look we're taking the matter seriously and we'll look into it."

So lets say the guy in the wheel chair was being an a'hole and ran into a player and the player then called the wheelchair bound gentlemen names. Fair call I say.

An a'hole in an a'hole regardless of disability, colour or creed. Sometimes it's NOT about treatment of people with disability.

Don't have the link, but the latest Fairfax article says that they were wheeled 10-12m down the street, and no kebab/food was thrown.

Geez, wait another 24 hours and it will be revealed that Rich dived in front of a bus to save a bloke in a wheelchair.

...and saved his kebab.
