Dids is a big in for them. Good to see Ash named up forward. The Hawk must surely get a negating role although he played really well in round 24 last season.

Pissed that Aaron is out again. Voss clearly does not like him. Not sure what sort of message that is going to send to him. He has been one who has worked his backside off the past few weeks and then gets dropped anyway.

Banfield?? WTF??

Not sure if it means anything, but the big 21 is forward again. So is McGrath, interestingly. A lot more experience in that forward line than usual.

I'd be very surprised if one of Green/Crisp doesn't end up playing personally.

McKeever for Hudson is a surprise. Jed is a big out, Toddy gets another chance.

Zorko surely the sub

I'm interested to see if having Zorko share the load up forward will allow Banfield to lift. If not, the ressies beckon.

Drummond, Raines, Hawksley, Zorko and McKeever for Adcock, Hudson, ACorn, Lester and Crisp.
A bit tough on Crisp. He probably needs a rest though.

I am glad to see Hawksley in and I am most likely the only one. I thought he showed a bit towards the end of last year and I believe he adds run to our team which we need! This is most likely the Hawks last chance however, and he needs to make an impact otherwise he will be omitted and most likely de listed at seasons end. I would like to see him given a few games though to see what he can do.

McKeever in means one of Patfull or Merrett will be playing forward?

Disgraceful. How is Banfield and Polkinghorne still in the team over Crisp and Lester?

Lester is out with soreness and I'd think Crisp is being rested. Lester is coming off an injury plagued season, and has played 6 games in a row. Crisp is a first year player that's played three games straight, include the tough one in the rain against Geelong. Not surprised both have been given rests to be honest.

If Zorko can provide some good pressure, and Green keeps up his form, Banfield will start getting nervous. Banfield has never really had a partner in crime, he might just flourish with another good tackling forward up there with him. We have said for years we need another Banfield. It's a shame Banfield seems to have gone backwards over the past 18 months, lets hope we can spark a bit of a partnership with Zorko and/or Green this year and kick him back into form. When on song, Banfield is great not only for tackles and pressure, but can kick a goal or 2. Badly needs his touch back.

Ace and Lester out, one would have to think it's mainly for balance. Karni probably too valuable to drop as a 3rd forward, he is dangerous. Ace doesn't add anything to the ruck, and with Hudson out, Longer will need lots of help. Ace and Lester unlucky, but i wouldn't read too much into it. We all cried foul last week because we were too tall, yet we don't want to drop a tall forward !? Same for Karni not to be sub the past weeks. This is the price for these things to happen. Can't have our cake and eat it too....

On the bright side, Zorko !!

Understandable that we drop one of the talls, which is fair enough (even though I didnt think it should be Ace), but then why is he not named as the tall emergency??

So if we were to lose a tall between now and game day, clearly the coaching staff thinks Retzy's form in the reserves has been better than Aaron's in the Seniors??

We don't know. Ace could just be tired for all we know.

Hawks and Stiller interchangeable I reckon. But not happy to see ACorn out. As Chopperduck says will be for balance so just unlucky. Banfield staying in is for much needed pace so he is really lucky. I imagine young Crisp just needs a rest.
Will be very interesting to see how they line up. I suspect Merret will go forward on that arseh*le Obrian.

Glad to see Harwood survive the cull.

With this lineup, you'd have to think Merrett is going back to the forwardline.

Which annoys me a bit. It took him a full quarter of getting his arse handed to him by Crameri to get back into the rythym of playing down back. At some point we'll have to go through that again.

What does Green have to do to get a start over Banners?

May have been disadvantaged by being the traveling EMG last week. Missed a week of footy. He's clearly getting close though. One more good hit out in the ressies and he might get the nod.

Banfield to kick 6 and win the game for the Lions

i just happy to see mcgrath listed out of the backline...the combo of banfield, mcgrath, and zorko forward will be interesting. At least when the long bombing hits the ground we may have a chance to hold it down forward
