No, 08 was the stake in the heart of your claims to dynasty

Cool.
He does 5 minutes worth of stuff every few weeks.
SJ for eg is miles ahead as a small forward to the point it isn't even worth comparing them.
So again, LouisCKNOPE.gif
Stevie J is a great player - no argument. Cyril does the things Stevie J refuses to. I like Stevie J but he does some stupid stuff too. He reminds me of Heath Shaw - sometimes his brain refuses to engage. I'd certainly have him under serious consideration, but Cyril beat us all by himself this year. THat kind of sticks with me .

ACtually I've taken a particular interest in Scarlett's career as his old man was a neighbour of mine when I was a kid. I used to go to Kardinia Park just to watch John Scarlett play. He was one of the few Full Backs that at least kept Peter Hudson honest.
I've watched a lot of footy and I've always thought Matty Scarlett to be overrated as a Full Back. Geelong always seemed to play him as the third tall, partiularly in the second half of his career. Sorry. That's my opinion and I won't change it. If I had to pick a full back from the three sides I'd probably pick Mal Michael. But that's just my opinion. Enright was a very good player I just don't know if he'd make the best 22. Milburn - sorry - don''t get the love. If you'd said Max Rooke, I'd perhaps understand what you were trying to say, but Milburn wouldn't be in the best 44 of the 3 teams. You had the Scott Bros, Hodge and a couple of others to all fit in that back line. I'd want hardness under pressure. The Hawthorn back 6 all of have it as did the Brisbane Lions. Besides the aforementioned Rooke and Enright I'm just not sure that the Geelong back 6 were nasty enough for my liking. But that's my opinion and you're welcome to yours
Sorry champ but making up stories doesn't equate to fact. :thumbsu:

Not at all. The better organised team won on the day. No excuses. No what ifs.
2011 is long gone. as is 2007 and 2009 for that matter
As is 2015, 2014, 2013... why are you here then?

Never seen a supporter base more bitter about a gf loss than your mob over 08.

Even your subsequent success hasn't washed away the bad taste.

Hawks winning 3 in a row has just rubbed salt into the wounds.

I love it.
Haha, if you think debating the worth of respective dynasties is being bitter, then a SOUTH AUSTRALIAN following Hawthorn is stranger than I thought.

It's like a Geelong born and bred resident following another side... bandwagon. :thumbsu:

People in the AFL industry have always said that the game now is "designed to prevent dynasties". They seem to say it a lot, because they always mention in in relation to a team that's currently in a dynasty. Three triple/ four time premiership winning teams in the space of 15 years?

Have we been blessed with three of the all time great teams in such a short period of time, or is the AFL system more conducive to dynasties than it was intended and speculated to be, given that in any one year half the sides are thinking about the next 'three year plan' and how they're going to make the most of draft selections?

See that's your problem right there.
You can't see the bleeding obvious
Please explain? From where I see it, plenty more from both sides have averaged more possessions and more goals a game than Rioli... I mean he made AA twice based on hype... that is an undisputed fact. 15 disposals and 1 goal a game isn't star rating. More bark than bite.

Isn't in the same ball park as Stevie J and Chappy 'performance wise.'

I was born in Geelong. My father barracked for Collingwood so did I. It never felt like a bandwagon to me

THere is no forward from an opposition club that I fear more than Rioli. When G ABlett Snr played that was fear. Rioli engenders the same sort of trepidation.
I fear satan, it doesn't mean he exists. Quite like Rioli for 3/4's of games. :thumbsu:
