Just hasnt been able get his body fully right for AFL footy

So use a later pick on him like we did with Gray. I would like to see what pick Newton would have landed had we not drafted him at #35.

a reasonable player from a team that can't even make the finals for a good player whose team doesnt even come close themselves?

we're all circle jerks

If Esendon offered #14 plus Monfries/Reimers... would you be willing to give up Boak??... just putting it out there!

Monfries is a free agent. I think he is a good chance to come to Port next year. You don't trade for free agents.

Likely delist list!

Phillips
Sal
Salter
Rodan
Logan
D Stewart
Banner
Brett Ebert

Kane - vet's list

Rookies

Curnow
Irons
Butcher
Webb

upgrade -

Jonas

That gives us eight places to fill. One free agent (Monfries). Maybe Jordan Russell - don't want. One delisted player (??) Six picks in the draft. One or two mature age late picks e.g. Sumner.

If picks 95 and 102 get us Chris Grant and James Hird, yep ild be happy!

If Rangiwiksika (or what ever his name is from the Magpies) Marschall or Vater (both from Centrals) or Hoskin (again from the Magpies) or Sumner (WWT) were our picks at 95 & 102 ild be more than happy using them.

Yeah Jolly @ 95/102 would be well worth looking at.

Take kids early and take 6/7 of them and replace the triers like Logan/Pfiffer/Thomas/Cassisi with kids (19/20/21/22 year olds) that have that little bit of something that may see them push the top level. As opposed to see ball get ball, I run hard and me smash packs type 25/26/27 year olds.

These 5 kids may be no better, nor close to as good as the four in question but one or two of them may be good enough to make a difference. Give these kids the opportunity the senior guys haven't been able to capitalise on.

12 will not happen unless your happy using selections 95 and 102 to complete our list and paying out multiple open contracts. 8 would be absolute top end.
I agree 8 is a lot and also think that 8 should be expected.

Hitchcock
Phillips
Ebert
Logan
Salter
Rodan
Salopek - Retired
Chaplin - cya.

No shit FA pickups please. Use the pick from Chaplin in the draft.

Need to improve a long way next year or they'll be gone next - Pfeiffer, Banner, D.Stew, Newton, Blee, McCarthy, 1 or 2 others.

I get the feeling Banner will go and one of Rodan or Ebert will stay tho.

Lol. Monfries is a free agent, and I'd rather trade Boak for pick 17 plus nothing than for pick 14 plus Reimers.

Why the hell are people calling for ebert to be delisted? This is beyond me.

Because he's a key forward who's too short to be a key forward.

That said, he still gets outmarked less than Daniel Stewart does. One of them should probably be kept on as depth and I wouldn't hesitate to pick Ebert over Stewart.

Yep. Without considering players traded for picks or brought in/lost via free agency, our pick 6 will be around pick 100 once other activated picks from last year are considered, so 8 delists from the main list would be a stretch. With rookie delists/upgrades a squad turnover of 10 would be max. Once again that doesn't include trades/free agency.

At this point pick 95 and 102 don't look so bad, a couple of mature SANFL recruits would offer just as much if not more than the players they'd be replacing.

Because despite having Butcher and Schulz on our list we won't have a forward structure until he leaves.

I don't know powerade. We have Rohdey. And what Rohdey likes/sees as gold, Rohdey gets eg the left field Phillips selection

"We intentionally didn't show an interest in Simon all the way through the season. We tend not to do that because you don't want word to get around," Rohde said.

Rohde and senior coach Matthew Primus only told Phillips of their intention to select him during the AFL exchange period last week, but the wheels on the deal had been in motion for nearly a month.

"We'd made a decision that we wanted Simon on our list and there was a way of being able to do it because Gold Coast was pre-listing 10 players," Rohde said.

Rohde said the club was thrilled to secure Phillips in trade week and avoid the possibility of losing him to another potential suitor like cross-town rivals Adelaide in the national or pre-season drafts.

I bet there were a few pats on the back after we snared Phillips. On the plus side, he has technically lasted longer at Port Adelaide than Krakouer has at Gold Coast.

1. Really glad we got a 24yo player who Paul Roos couldn't make something out of. I bet the rest of the league were so jelly.

2. Maybe Rohde was told to say that and actually wanted to pick Andrew Krakouer... like the tortured soul who has been on the payroll for 8 years and hasn't made a single bad decision affecting football ops because excuse excuse excuse, he is.

Peter Rohde has an extensive network of football contacts that he uses for this club's benefit, and we should all show him a great deal of respect for that.

No, I defer to you. The chief engineer of the Veale Deal that simultaneously landed a one-legged Jade Rawlings on enormous pay while taking them out of the running to PSD Nick Stevens should be cast in structurally sound bronze to be sure.

Don't forget Scott Bassett, Adam Morgan and Steven Koops.

No, 14 aint good enough for Boak, and the steak knives you mention, whilst okay at times, shouldn't be thought of when trading for someone as good as Boak.
