Monfries would be an incremental improvement to our list. I wouldn't FA as it would risk screwing up compo if we lose chappy. Late draft pick trade or we can send them Salopek as a straight swap.

Who is seriously going to want Salopek, been in the system 10 years, is super slow and doesn't have a body capable of holding up to AFL rigours. He.can't get a gig in our side, the side with the worst midfield in.the comp. Only potential will get you so far, then there is luck, size and application, poor Steve is the PAFC creation from 2004-2012. We need to part ways with the poor lad as a player, maybe a development coach role? Runners role? Board room?

Cam Hitchcock may have thrived with a fitness coach able to bulk him up, he has added a little weight and his legs seem to be braking down, like Pittard, but he shows a little, may be retained.

I love Salter but as an undersized KPF and without a great burst of Speed will probably be lost in abyss.

Banner is a midfielder, an incomming coach may persist with him, but should be behind Newton in the pecking order.

Logan has become surplus to our needs, Pfiffer is an upgrade and we can't carry these unskilled footballers. Hawthorn cut Vandenberg, a club captain, we can't have 3 unskilled battlers on our list

Brett Ebert is a champion, battles above his weight and division time and time again, year after year. However he won't be with us during our next finals campaign and personally I would far rather Banner, Young, Danyle Pearce, Newton (Dayle Garlett) or Hitchcock on our half forwad line.

Pfiffer stays on the Rookie list, all other rookies are shown the door but told a seriously good year in the SANFL league structure will see them rerookied next year. Hoping Irons and Danny Butcher stay in the state and get cracking.

Thomas will have some value, has credit in the media and a top 8 side will rate themselves with him. Chaplin can go to Richmond, we need the pick, a first rounder would be ideal, second rounder wouldn't hurt.

I'm back to being either way on Boaky leaving, we WILL get two first rounders for him and if this is the case we can add serious ability to our midfield and address key areas. If we have 3/4 first rounders, blokes like Mayers and Garlett become viable first pick options. Wines may slide, but I doubt the Doggies will pass. Mason Shaw may be snared with a first round selection from Boak or Chaplin, Calhoqun is a super skilled mid half back who again would add much needed class. Another first rounder if we are lucky to snare next best available mid and then McDonough becomes a viable early second rounder for us.

We just need a RUTHLESS coach to come in and cut the deadwood, the senior blokes who have only ever been B grade football's at their best...

Hope you're not including Jonas in that. He's just about best 22 at this point. Will definitely be best 22 if Chaplin leaves IMO.

FB: Jonas, Carlile, Surjan
HB: P.Stewart, Trengove, Blee/Hartlet

Would be my best six, Carlile is too unpredictable, Jonas and Blee are debatable about AFL league standard/ready. Surjan is Surjan and has to be there, Paul Stewart has two big question marks, will next year be one of his down years again and how many games will he be concused early? Trengove needs to fill out rapidly and become less gangly and gumby. Hartlet is a half back, I remember the defensive job he did on Goddard in his first or second year, Anzac game Rodan won the medal, but if we loose Boak, Hartlet is needed on the ball.

OUT
Chaplin (Richmond)
Pearce (GWS)

Hitchcock del
Banner del
Phillips del
Salter del
Logan del
Salopek del
Surjan del
Rodan del
D Stewart del

That's how I see it going down - a lot of players and I could add a couple more. But if we are going to be a good side none of these guys (delisted) will be in that team so they need to go.

Why delist surjan?
Not sure, but I'm glad we will still have all of Cornes, Cassisi and Ebert to lead the new troops into a glorious new era, for how many years running now?

I'm sick of people lumping in Surjan with the rest of our spuds. Surjan is a better player than everyone else you listed put together. And I laughed very hard at Surjan apparently getting delisted and yet Thomas stays.

I don't think I would, but I think he will get delisted. I think it's a problem that he can't get a game at the moment and I think any of the guys who aren't in the best 22 and are over 21 years old are in the crosshairs

Being injured kinda makes it hard to play.

I'd keep Thomas for one more year. As I said in an above post, he was the only one that gave a shit against GWS. Until we have 22 players that give a shit and I saw some very promising signs with Wingard and Young today then Thomas and players like him will persevere on our list.

Young will be Thomas but with actual skills.

Aaron Young made Thomas obsolete today.

Thomas gave just as little of shit in the last quarter as the rest of the team today. One very, very slack effort in particular in the forward pocket when he and Schulz lost a 2-on-1. When the ONE thing you're in the team for is to give a shit and you can't even do that, you should be delisted on the spot.

Is salter worth a rookie spot ? or too injury prone?
Too old to piss around with any more. We either play him or move on.
