That is my point exactly

  • The condition that a player must have come out of contract after eight years to then qualify for Unrestricted Free Agency at 10 years has been removed (irrespective of when a player had signed his previous contract, all ten-year players are Unrestricted Free Agents);
FA is tied to the same club not the AFL.

Wingard's FA clock restarted when he joined us

That's a list of OOC.....the post and I was asking for FA, which from that list looks like its Ceglar, Gunston, Hartigan, McEvoy, Shiels, Sicily

Chad not a FA, hasn't been at club for 8 years
Don't think Hartigan is as he was traded to us. Stand to be corrected though.

Hartigan was a FA, so would be again. We only traded to avoid affecting Isaac Smith compo.
He didn't evoke his free agency rights and was traded therefore he does not automatically become a free agent when his contract expires

Where to now for Hanrahan? Delisted?
Probably gets a one year deal as we're not taking 6 guys with our draft hand (5, 21, 24, 59, 65, 81) unless we trade in/split picks. We're currently sitting at 30 on the senior list and need to get to 36.

We will like to take some rookies, and may even leave a SSP spot open to find a late gem, like Bramble.

May even look at a DFA (was there talk of Lonie?)

Reckon it's really touch and go for Ollie

will we save for mid season again if we expect to start slow? Or PSD - we are one ruck light on last year

As it currently stand, we have between 6&8 normal list and 2 rookie spots available. Callow, saunders and Hanrahan are yet to resign so (assuming all 3 do) that will still leave us with between 5&7 spots left.

You mean Saunders?

Brander DFA?

Picks 5, 21, 24

Fergus Greene rookie?

Irish import shhhhh was talking about?

It would be idiotic of any team expected to be in the bottom 5 not free up a spot for the mid-season draft, especially after 2 interrupted seasons for u18 players. There will be more Newcombe and Bramble type pick-ups IMO.

We're probably saying the same thing in different ways (but my brain has a certain way of calculating list numbers, so the way you express it is different from mine, and my feeble brain circuits get thrown)

I think, not counting elevating rookies, we have 5 spaces IF Callow, Saunders and Hanrahan sign on.

We had 4 spaces after our official delists.

Then we lost 2 (Timmy, Ceglar) and gained 1 (Lynch)

I’m not expecting any astute media analysis of our list changes following the trade period but the reduction to our age profile has me excited. With the following players all departing the club over the past 12 months it really does highlight the clubs commitment to rejuvenate through the draft.

Burgoyne (38), Ceglar (30), Hartley (28) and O’Brien (27) combined for 52 games in 2021. Brooksby (31), Patton (28) and Scully (30) never got a start.

Hawks List UPDATE 3.PNG

Post trade period update. Please note usual (but updated) disclaimers:

- I am not claiming this to be 100% accurate so if you have a link to a source that shows a mistake, I am happy to fix it up.
- I have assumed that Bramble, Newcombe and Jeka's new deals all were to remain on the rookie list as it was never said by the club that they were being elevated and it still fits their timeframes (i.e. max 3 years). However, I have assumed Reeves was in fact elevated despite no mention given his 3 years has elapsed.
- I haven't seen any info on length of Max Lynch's deal with us but I have left it at just next year until there is confirmation.

If this information IS all correct, then we need to add a minimum of 6 (and a maximum of 8) delisted free agency, elevating rookies, re-signing Hanrahan or, of course, the national draft. The min of 6 would leave us with the option of taking on 2 x Cat A rookies, although we may choose to keep 1 or more of those spots open for taking someone as an SSP or in the MSD next year (and those spots can also open up due to LTIs). We also have room for 2 x Cat B rookies (and Shhhhhh has mentioned recently that we are looking to sign one from Ireland).

you would expect Callow to continue now that O’Brien is gone
Ollie will be lucky to make the cut
And Saunders appears to be a Mitch favourite and improved a lot this year by all reports

that would make it 11 list changes, a sizeable turnover once again
