Is my top 10 at the moment. Breust, BigBoy, Shiels, and Gunston while handy and still best 22 are no longer top 10 at the moment. If Gunston magically regains his touch, speed, agility and kicking boots he might shoot back up.

The Yabby sees it pretty similarly.

Pretty accurate top 10, though I’d have Breust ahead of Wingard, JOM and Hardwick. Still a matchwinner and he’s kicked 22 goals this year.

What stands out is the lack of young midfield talent outside of Newcombe. That must remain the primary focus.

Need to be identifying the next Will Brodie. It’s those bonus finds (like Newcombe in the MSD) that will be the key to rising more quickly. Gold Coast should always be front of mind. Flanders ?

Not sure Flanders talent is unlockable, but then again Brodie was languishing at the Suns, now look at him.

There's Hollands at the Suns too.... the 2020 draft would be one to have a look at, and see who's wanting to play midfield every week at AFL level, because we're open for business.

Clarkson made plenty of mistakes but saying he left Sam with a significant mess is just an unnuanced, Kane Cornes nonsense take. Lewis, Moore, Day, Harry, Newcombe, Hardwick, Reeves etc. are all Clarkson list decisions post-dynasty that seem to be forming a major part of our next premiership core.

The recruitment team - GW and McKenzie in particular are responsible for those draft finds that you mentioned. Mitchell and Collins should probably be given some credit with the development of Newcombe.

Clarko is responsible for the top-up attempts, that was his decision and his direction that he wanted to take. This was clearly a mistake in hindsight and has set us back.

However what Clarko did leave behind was a good culture, and he undoubtedly helped develop players that GW and McKenzie had astutely recruited (Lewis, Morrison, Hardwick, etc).

Clarkson has left a significant mess of the list. The worst example of many was taking Vickery for 29 which the Tigers used on Shai Bolton.

Similar to last year. Need another pick in the teens at the very least and keep pick 23. First 2 must be midfielders and the next another key tall IMO. Can always have depth in that area.
