Winning the Sandover does not prove he is a bloody good AFL player.
Also suggesting he is a walk up start at 16 clubs is funny
Not for a while.

But after reading the past page or so about Reeves I can say without a doubt. You haven’t watched any footage of him obviously.

I am sorry but dominating at lower levels does not guarantee anything at AFL level, that goes for all state leagues. You haven’t watched any footage of him obviously. Dominates at wafl level. There is only 3-4 clubs in the league who I would classify as “happy” with their ruck situation. Every other club would at least take a look.
If the Hawks were confident of Reeves they won’t be trading in Meek.

… and the circle spins again..![]()
The Sandover changes nothing, his season was his season whether it ends up with an award will not change his value. If big meeky wins the sandover as a ruckman then you will pay overs
As it stands we probs take the unders something like 49 and a swap of our future 4ths
You got me. I'm not even sure he's a real player to be honest. But clearly Meek is better since you're mob are chasing him. This is a common proclamation I read on this board from Freo fans
But after reading the past page or so about Reeves I can say without a doubt.
Winning a sandover from the ruck while missing games is an incredible achievementThe Sandover changes nothing, his season was his season whether it ends up with an award will not change his value.
I am fairly certain the Hawks will not be paying overs for him, if Freo decide to hold him that is fair enough and they can do that. But the club is in no position to overpay for a fringe ruckmen even if it is one with some talent.
Being clearly better than WAFL players will not sky rocket his value.Winning a sandover from the ruck while missing games is an incredible achievement
His value would rocket, others would get interested and we wouldn't take unders in that specific scenario
Why are the Hawks chasing him?The Sandover changes nothing, his season was his season whether it ends up with an award will not change his value.

Becuase we have 1 proven quality ruckmen on our list, we were forced to use Kozi in the ruck at times this year when injuries happened. Meek will create competition for that spot and depth. Why are the Hawks chasing him?
Pick 49 is such a crap pick, especially for list that has enough young players.
Melbourne don't want or need pick 49.Becuase we have 1 proven quality ruckmen on our list, we were forced to use Kozi in the ruck at times this year when injuries happened. Meek will create competition for that spot and depth.
Also why do people talk like it has to be just 49? swap of future picks could be involved somewhere as well if 49 isn't enough. Freo may not use 49 but it could be part of either trading for Jackson or trading back in to the Draft if Jackson uses a lot of the Dockers draft hand.
Not interested in moving back our 2nd round picks this year or next, we are looking to add picks inside 25 not lose them.Melbourne don't want or need pick 49.
Swapping picks should be look at for sure.
I am ok with Meek + Fremantle F3 for Hawthorn F2.
Hawks could trade picks 24 F3 to the Suns 31,34
Keep 31 and trade 34 for Meek.
We literally had Kozi rucking at times this year because of injuries… We need an AFL ready ruck on the list.
Come back to us next year and trade a third round pick. Not interested in moving back our 2nd round picks this year or next, we are looking to add picks inside 25 not lose them.
Again so many deals will be made during trade period you would be able to use the currency without directly going to the draft with it.
If he is THAT talented Freo will hold him i guess and we move on, but if we use any second round picks to secure a depth ruckmen i think the members will be rather pissed.
Unfortunately we do not need one that badHey, Freo has one of those...
...First round pick for the Sandover Medal Favourite!!!
Okay that is fine, i hope that is what the club does if Freo want anything more than 49 and a swap of thirds or something to that effect.Come back to us next year and trade a third round pick.
We will have him for ruck insurance for one year and get the same result.
He isn't on big money, so it won't hurt cap wise.
That's fair enough.Okay that is fine, i hope that is what the club does if Freo want anything more than 49 and a swap of thirds or something to that effect.
Don't blame them for it but also not paying anything extra.
True but i still think it gets done (assuming Freo are willing to entertain letting him go). That's fair enough.
I am still very surprised Meek requested the Hawks considering trade assets. 24 is too much and 49 is too little. or F2 is too much and F3 is too little.
