Ruedin - Sandhurst (confirmed)
Axel - Sandhurst
Wood - I've heard he's back to Melb
Mitch Hall - ditto
Clutton apparently has been training with a couple of Bendigo clubs (K'Flat, Square)
Millards have been chased by a few clubs (white hills, talbot, charlton)
Wickham - work may take him elsewhere

That's a fair chunk of talent...

Your not wrong mate thats a massive amount of talent.
Hopefully they can still be a contender but if these players are correct it will really hurt, especially Cutton and the Millard’s.

They have only confirmed a senior coach now? Why so late?

Fitzy signed on the weekend as coach who was appointed is not moving to bendigo. God luck to Fitzy and I hope he goes well as taking on a job at this stage is always difficult and YCW have probably missed a few recruits .
Non playing I am hoping?

Doesn't help that they haven't started training either!

True. Bridgy had it's first night tonight. Bloody hot night for the first run. Lucky they have the river to have a dip in. Also saw Mitiamo having a run at Weeroona Oval. They probably had about 25 there.

Good luck to Fitzy and the boys on the committee. Chuck yourself in a forward pocket fitzy, if the body can handle it!!!!

B Boy, what is with the talk of gloom and doom at bridgy!?
Why would there be massive player exodus, apart from starting training now?
Maybe things are being kept hush hush?;)

I think if BBoys comments are correct about the departures there maybe reason to believe a long season is ahead (clearly the players named below are senior players), which would be disappointing to see. Can you confirm or deny these departures and or confirm any new arrivals.

Reudin to Sandhurst, Luke Millard to Strathfieldsaye... no idea about big Alex Collins - first I've heard of it. He left Sandhurst early 07 to play with his home town. Might be coming back since Bridgey are going to be absolute poo this year?

I think the main reason after speaking with many of the players is that nothing at all has really happened over the last few months. Most players got a letter and that is all. If you don't know where the club stands and what they are doing to improve for next year (or even get a phone call to say you are a required player) of course players will start to look elsewhere...

That's bad news for big egga if it's true

oh the poor little footballers at Bridgey didn't all get a phone call, ah diddums.

What did they want or expect from the club? Red Carpet? Rose Petals thrown at their feet?

What is it that footballers want and expect thier egos to be massaged by a football club all the time? I would of thought if a player wanted to know what's going on with the club they would pick up the phone to ask.

Agree Frank - but that's the reality nowadays - Generation Y kids who think it's all about them and crap Bendigo FL reserves players chasing $300 a game because they think they're worth it. I miss the 90's when money wasn't the main motivating factor to pull on the boots

I would have to disagree with you here.
A quick phone makes the player feel more obliged and less inclined to go elsewhere.
It might not of been the way years ago but that’s the way it is now and if you want to reduce losing players it’s a must.
Comparing a phone call to rose petals and red carpet is a bit much.
Thats just my opionion i agree that too much $$ are thown around (alot of players still dont ask for a cent) but a 20cent phone call will probably work out alot cheaper than trying to go out and get a player to fill there boots.

look i agree that a phone call to the exisiting playing list should be mandatory for the coach and a letter to the group is also nice, past that i think a coach's time is better placed chasing recruits.

I reckon about the only time the disrespect card gets played by a "playing group" is when there is unhappiness with the coach? Maybe that has more to do with blokes leaving rather than a late start to a pre-season and no phone calls?

It's been a while since we have been subjected to your opinions Frank. But I'll reply to this even though what you have just said is old school and pathetic.

How hard is it for clubs to contact the 21 senior players? It might take one afternoon during summer to tell the players what the plans are for the next year, what recruits they are working on and WHEN PRE-SEASON STARTS! You're a fool for suggesting it is just to "massage egos".

Maintaining contact with players is the key to keep the core group, and more importantly, generate excitement around the club.

Finally, you say that if a player wants to know what is going on at the club they should phone the club.

What would you do if you were a top line player for a senior team and had a few teams calling you to get your services. "Hang on, I won't sign at the moment because I have to call my club and see when we start training." Give me a break.

people, you should listen to b-boy he is right. he just whaled on u frank. if the club wants to keep its players it should ring them early and show some intrest in them and let them know what is happening with the club, rather then just expecting them to show up.

IT's not difficult at all for a club to contact the entire playing group not just THE SENIOR 21. Phew didn't Bridgey win the thirds flag last year? Surely the coach or club is in contact with these kids?

I wasn't talking about the top line players at the club not getting a phone call, but your constant statements about "the playing group" not being happy. Twist my statements away, fact remains your on here b!tching about the club not contacting the playing group.

At the end of the day any player at all regardless of ability or if they are getting paid surely would want to know what's happening at their current club before leaving (Especially Bridgey who appear to be on the improve)?

Maybe B-Boy your one of the blokes who didn't get called and your on here talking on behalf of the playing group?

Frank, your argument is going around in circles and you are now contradicting yourself. Now you are in agreement with me that every player (not just the senior players) should be contacted.

And you can speculate all you want about my own situation.

I was making the point because it is disappointing to hear of the potential departures from the club and that simple things that don't cost any money aren't being done or have been left too late.

Oh, and to further illustrate my point, there were 4 Bridgy players training on Monday.

whats going on with the transfer/clearance lists on the lvfl site? it seems to be non-existent??????

My understanding is that transfers aren't available on the new Sporting Pulse website. Even those with admin access to the club sites can only see clearances relating to their own club.

The AFL pushed the VCFL to move from interfuse to Sporting Pulse this season. It's pretty apparent that Sporting Pulse aren't up to scratch at the moment. At this stage the 'competitions' side of things hasn't been sorted out.

Only 4 Players at training?? Surely not!

We're only 8 weeks away from the start of the season!

Heard that possible a few clubs will be struggling to field an U17s team this year.. Besides Inglewood who at this moment won't be fiedling a team, which other teams are struggling??
