Longest time on an AFL/VFL list for the least games?

Least Games from national draft year still on a AFL list.

2008: Luke Lowden - 0 (Tom Lee & Lewis Johnston -10 of those that have played 1+)

That's seriously impressive if correct. Into his 6th year on the list and hasn't played a game. Guy would earn barely more than average wage and would be expected to meet some lofty professional standards for that sort of money. Sure he is playing footy for living, he would have access to development programs and it would be a great ride through those years at the Hawks but I do think it would be a tough slog mentally and physically. The guy would obviously prepare well for the Hawks to stick with him for that long, it wouldn't be the free ride people think it is.

Luke Lowden has been on our list for six years and still hasn't played a game.

He's a ruckman yeah? Do you think he'll get a game? Spose he's your break glass in case of emergency type ruckman like McCauley was for a bit.

Cegler is our emergency ruck man at the moment, and he wouldn't be playing if we had a healthy list. We've then also got Grimley on the list, a fwd/ruck who has only played 3 games. Some Hawthorn posters that watch Box Hill regularly would be able to say who is better out of Grimley and Lowden.

3 off the top of my head For Freo...

Gumbleton... Injured at freo now but before that Played for Essendon from 2007-2013 and played only 35 games.

Andrew Browne was on our list from 2002-2009 and played 29 games

Scott thornton was on freos list from 2001-2010 and played only 88 games.

Drafted as a very skinny, very tall, bottom aged ruckman, and might have even been late to the game, but I can't remember. So he has taken a long time to develop. I think late last year and this year he has been good in the VFL, while still having plenty of areas of his game to improve. One thing that hurts him is that he doesn't really play forward, so in the current game if he isn't the number 1 ruck at AFL level it's hard to have him in the side.

Ceglar's ability as a forward really helps him come selection day. Interestingly Ceglar is a week or so older but was drafted two years later.

Morabito? I hear he may be up for playing again finally this year?

I know Freo had some really dud sides at times through that period but it still amazes me how he managed to survive on our list so long.

Browne was super quick, wasn't he? When he wasn't broken that is.

Luke Webster seemed to be around forever also.

Was on the list 2001-2008, managed 33 games. Had 4 knee reco's I think and lost his father during his time in the AFL. Seemed like a nice bloke, was fed an absolute shit sandwich.

Josh Wooden 96 games in 11 years
Ashley Hansen 78 in 9
Adrian Barich 47 in 7
Troy Ugle 43 in 6
Matthew Burton 0 in 4

Beeck 1 in 5 years, Wilkesmaister 23 in 6 years (none in his first 3). Burton only had three years at WCE, was delisted end of 1993 when the reserves were done away with and list sizes reduced.

Ian McMullin played 10 seasons for Collingwood/Essendon/Collingwood for 49 games.

He also managed in 92 to play for and against both clubs in the 1 season.

Dan Currie must be on the leader board. ON the Swans list from 2007-2011, didn't play a game. Spent a year in SANFL, picked up by North at end 2012. Didn't play last year but has played 3 this season. That's less than half a game a season.

Lowden beats Currie, but only just.

Good luck to Sticks in making his debut this weekend. I'll miss watching him at Box Hill! ;)

Will be watching the game to see how the Dookie Dasher goes provided he ain't the sub.

Also, how's Stones going at the minute?
