Pies won that game prompting Tony Shaw to tell Essendon "we beat you when it mattered and we beat you when we were pissed"

Why would the AFL send Essendon and Collingwood to London when both sides are still physically and mentally getting over the grand final (and there's a bit of ill-feeling over the quarter time brawl)? Would it be a lot better if they sent Hawthorn and West Coast to play and promote the game of Australian Rules in the UK instead?

essendon bruise free liked it more of a control game kind of had taller players but lacked depth was at the time one of the glamour teams ala hawks and melbourne in 1990 but pies timed its run perfectly.
pies was all work men and was the brutal battler that never gave in.
it helped the pies too fire them up as there were endless grand final losses and was its only real hope to win one before teams like west coast hawks essendon carlton would have beaten them to their flags alot sooner then the pies had the pies lost 1990.
1990 was also a foundation year for both bombers and blues hence thier success in 93 and 95
