Roast Luke Meehan Departs Richmond

Should Richmond look for a big bucks, top tier replacement for Luke "The Punt Rd Slasher" Meehan?

  • Yes. Club needs to be ruthless and "Pay the Price!".

  • No. We should back in Meehan and gamble our aging stars bodies, potentially sacrificing 2024.

  • No. replace with another el cheapo McGee with their online $29 P.T cert IV and cross our fingers.

  • Undecided.

Seth Campbell, adductor (short-term)

Josh Gibcus, hamstring (medium-term)

Kaleb Smith, ankle (long-term)

Tom Lynch, foot (long-term)

Mate Colina, back (long-term)

Robbie Tarrant, hip (indefinite)

Knee reconstructions would have been quicker
Jeremy Howe mangulated his arm and comes back this week yet Gibcus can get back from a Hamstring and Lynch with a broken bone in his foot now into his 10th week and looking like another 7 more weeks

Collision injuries can’t do much about so Lynch and Smith you strike out.

Leaves Tarrant and Gibcus from the list who are best 22. Leaving out Hopper and Cumberland who had calve issues and might be available next week.

Doesn’t discount the soft tissue injuries we’ve had this year. Could have been unlucky or we’re doing something different to other years. Noting our older blokes have been ok so far this year with calves and hammys.

You don't think the lack of information is Balmey keeping information at a minimum

Silence fool. We are having ourselves a Lynching.

That is exactly what it is.

Chris Salt says in a presser asked about why some of his players have been playing like drains... "we consider player fitness information commercial-in-confidence." Press gallery says wow, this guy is a genius and knows how to use commercial-in-confidence in a sentence. That being the case we will overlook the fact he is admitting to he and Harold Taylor playing players who are not properly prepared for AFL football.

Meehan is a bit economical with some precise detail of how some injured players are tracking..."this guy is the Jack the Ripper of High Performance Coaches."

Lol. Lukey knows what he is doing, he is a triple flag master conditioner.

I have to admit he must be doing something right if AFL house is bringing in a new rule to stop it ha

Wow just wow Prestia sidelined with a calf injury. Sorry but a review needs to be made with the conditioning team.
This is definitely a strategic rest and test I think with Hopper coming back in. I think the coaching panel wants Prestia cherry ripe and Hopper is a seamless replacement.

agree definitely no shocks that Prestia is being managed especially now that we are getting some depth back in that area of the ground
Dare say Cotch will be managed for the rest of the year as well

Not sure why posters are acting shocked about Prestia who has suffered continuous soft tissue injuries for most of his career is being managed very carefully

Imagine the melts if they played him this week and blew a hammy

Damned if they do and damned if they don’t in the eyes of some around here

Club is seething with Meehan apparently. He had too many inside mids spot on at the same time. 101 high performance: know your list, don't have too many gun experienced mids ready to roll at the same time, unbalances the team. Being too good at your job is unacceptable, Meehan just showing off now. Apparently when Lynch comes back he will be in career best form as well I am hearing. :)

Can picture it now, the week Lynch is due back (whenever that is) somehow he will find away to get another injury. Just our luck unfortunately

Meehan has to find some way to fit all the talent into the team that runs out each week. And he also has to have an eye to the future and make sure there are spots available for developing players. Tough job to make sure there are enough injuries at any given time. :)
