Roast Luke Meehan Departs Richmond

Should Richmond look for a big bucks, top tier replacement for Luke "The Punt Rd Slasher" Meehan?

  • Yes. Club needs to be ruthless and "Pay the Price!".

  • No. We should back in Meehan and gamble our aging stars bodies, potentially sacrificing 2024.

  • No. replace with another el cheapo McGee with their online $29 P.T cert IV and cross our fingers.

  • Undecided.

Alright there's been an update on Lynch. It's only taken 10 weeks but Lynch is now closer to returning. That's what I call progress folks!

If Tarrant is indefinite why did we not get him to retire before mid season draft?

It's irrelevant any way. McQualter has zero intentions of playing any of Bauer, Bradtke or Biggie.... Probably even Banks? All across the comp you hear about teams unearthing gems or rewarding kids with senior games. He's all about what's best for McQualter atm.... can't blame him for putting his turn ahead of all other matters. But it's gonna make delistings harder at end of year when so many are still unknowns quantities. Potentially all of Bauer, Bradtke and Biggie aren't up to AFL standards.... But who know's until they get a chance.

One could potentially cut it at AFL and be servicable (potentially even great value like a Mihocek) on low salary to tide us over until we land a big fish, or all 3 could be useless, but we'll never know unless they get a chance. Soldo and those 3 B's would prob be on about just under $1mil combined. That could land a gun Lynch replacement if all were discarded end of year.... but why not play the 3 B's at some point? Jack needs more rests. Ryan's form has dropped right off and could use a spell in the magoo's. Soldo's not AFL standard and Ryan has him covered.

Considering that we don't have a 1st round pick, I'm all fine with us trying to win as many games as we can with our experienced players. I'd be very surprised if we let go of many players at seasons end.
Riewoldt & Cotchin to retire. Tarrant likely as well, that's 3 changes, we have about 3 picks so that is the AFL minimum requirement. Think it's going to be a very quiet off-season trade and draft wise unless we can bring in a free agent that doesn't cost us any picks.

Gee-zuzz the pressure on Meeham...
As a fitness co-ordinator it seems Meeham doesn't have a leg to stand on...
What you talking about?

He’s got half the playing groups legs he’s hacked off

Nice of him to provide an update for the fans this week.

edit: good timing - Injury Report: June 23, 2023
Seth Campbell, adductor (short-term)

Josh Gibcus, hamstring (medium-term)

Kaleb Smith, ankle (long-term)

Tom Lynch, foot (long-term)

Mate Colina, back (long-term)

Robbie Tarrant, hip (indefinite)

Knee reconstructions would have been quicker
Jeremy Howe mangulated his arm and comes back this week yet Gibcus can get back from a Hamstring and Lynch with a broken bone in his foot now into his 10th week and looking like another 7 more weeks
