Get a grip. We are not talking about no man ffs lol

If you and I were mates and you and your wife split and you had kids with her, I would be a top line scrub having a relationship with her, while cheating on my wife and lieing to you about it. that is pretty simple.

If you split with your wife and I loved her. IMO a mate would talk to you about it openly. Lyon did not do that.

If it were real love it wouldn't be over because they got found out.

You'd be a top line scrub if you didn't tell me you had genuine feelings for her.

I can say this because I hoped that a mate of mine had hooked up with an ex-wife of mine.
I know he liked her and they were a lot more compatible couple than we had been.
That never came about but I can honestly say that given what I knew, I wouldn't have been disappointed, angry, vengeful etc. I would have been happy

I hear that mate but you have hit my main point. If your mate told you how he felt before he engaged with your X, then IMO its ok. If you were dead set against it, at least your mate was honest and open. If It were I, wanting to be with your X and you said No, then ill not do it. Why ? I dont mean to be disrespectful to women but women are easy to find, real mates are not.

IMO if Lyon had of spoken to Billy first then IMO it would have been sorted, he didnt no he is a scrub in my book. Particularly how Lyon loved to throw the boots in to others who did a similar thing.

If it were real love it wouldn't be over because they got found out.
true. Still does not change the fact that Lyon lied and cheated on his wife. To me that's a dog act.

I have been married 21 years. If my wife and I divorced and my mate wanted a relationship with her, I have no idea what ill do and say but if he came to me first, at least I am paid the respect by him to work through it.

You were doing really well until...............that.

You may not want to be disrespectful but you certainly are...........to women and to yourself.

Men are easy to find too as they account for 50& of the population. Finding the right partner is every bit as hard as finding a great mate.

You are right as now reading it, is not how i meant it.

I should have said " Relationships are easy to find but real mates are not". You can go through girl/boyfriends pretty easy till you find the right one but finding a true mate is harder. I am in my 40's and have 4 true mates. Have plenty of mates and have had many girlfriends but true mates that cover your back no matter what...there rare as a tigers final win :p

You may have left a word out before 'Relationships' The word 'real' would have been every bit as relevant there, as when talking about mates.

People often hook up because that's what they're supposed to do....time is running out....One wants to have kids....tradition....obligation and sometimes love.

There aren't too many couples I know that have a beautiful synergy about them I'm sorry to say, so finding a partner and finding the right partner can be poles apart.

I am lucky i guess. I found mine :)

No different to "real men don't hit women".

How many women would be comfortable or forgiving with a best friend ******* their husband? Just because Brownless encapsulated the sentiment in a male maxim doesn't make it wrong.
It actually is different Ron. You are one of my favourite posters and I love your stats but you seem to not understand analogies. It is not the same as "real men don't hit women" at all. He is clearly comparing his EX wife to a material possession.

I frankly also don't buy this 'best mate' garbage. If Brownless doesn't have an actual friend outside of his work colleagues/football/media he is truly a stupid person. Sorry I just don't buy that Lyon is supposedly his 'best mate'. I also don't buy that Brownless was some wholesome honest farm boy family man. Also utter garbage.

You're taking it far too literally. It's like saying "You don't kick sideways to a contest, and you don't let your opponent get goalside at stoppages". It's two truisms in the same breath, not a simile.

Now if he'd said "Sleeping with another man's wife is like stealing from his wallet"...

What a naive comment. It is a figure of speech and it is not meant to be taken literally.

well some people see things differently. It is not about possessions or anything like that.

It can be about simply emotions that go astray and cause people to do things that they really rather wouldn't.

I mean I can like people but know that ultimately they are nothing to do with me. But I say nothing and
just go on my merry way.

It is something that perhaps we all need to realize that things just happen and confuse and scare the shit out of us and we
don't know what to do about it.

We all have feelings and we don't quite know what we should do and yet we do things that screw other people up as well.

It is a sad thing because I like both blokes but don't know personally but the situation is everywhere and so we just try to
suck it up and deal with it as we can.

There is a lot of screwy things I have said here but the point is that none of us are perfect and we should take a leaf out of the book
where if it were for me then this would have happened.

Shylock happens. It is good that it is talked about in some way and for some people it will help... in some small scrungy way.

For them to suggest the show might have Garry come back and bill stays on with his return is just impossible I reckon. It would be so awkward and it just wouldn't work.

Yes, apparently Billy asked both GL and the ex wife if anything was going on and they both denied it.

So is Billy more upset about the affair, or being lied to by two people he held close to his heart? Who knows? If this is true Lyon is finished in the media surely. Quite apart from being a poor friend he can only be described as a coward and a lier.
