1. It wasn't a free kick, ducked his head.
2. Not a bright idea to be a smart arse like that to an umpire. It will be remembered and not only by that umpire.
3. Saints fans whinging about the umpiring. Lol. Pick 10 free kicks missed for the Saints and any North supporter could do the same for their team. The umpiring was minimal in this game. You were beaten by a team that wanted it more, with one week to go until the finals I'd thank them for the lesson.

And you know what even though it isnt going to happen even if in our wildest dreams it did I will still have seen 4 times the amount of premierships you have.
And Wayne Carey will always be a better footballer/captain than the choker who is yours!

Yep Wayne is a pillar of society isnt he:rolleyes:

Well what reason is there for missing the high tackle on Armo 30 m out directly infront in the last quarter. Surely there is a lot of good karma comin his way.

Watch the replay of the Armitage one - it wasn't a free kick. He ducked his head and even then, he wasn't tackled high.

Maybe but the bigger concern for your lot is: can you financially survive long enough to make another finals series?

Hows James super "whiteknight bus" venture working for ya?
To answer your first question : yes.

Brayshaw is doing a great job of ensuring North's longterm financial viability, without resorting to gypping all of our creditors. Thanks for asking. :)

Geez the Bulldogs fans have found voice!! (shame they cant part with a few membership bucks but what the heck.....Smorgon will fix it forever right??)
Uhh yeah, cause your 2000 extra members in a year where you were 11 and 0 when the membership cut off was is soooo much better? Have a look in your own backyard first champ.

Surely Schneider was on the pointy end of some of the most delicious footy karma dished out for some time.

3rd quarter he stages for a free in the most pathetic, weak fashion. The North player certainly had his hand on him, but it was pretty standard scrapping. Nevertheless, Schneider throws his hands up like he was run over by a truck. When he doesn't get the free kick (thank God!) he then sarcastically claps TWO umpires over the intervening minute he is so steamed up that he didn't get his lame weakass handout.

If i was a Saints fan i would have been absolutely disgusted. No act all year has better encapsulated what the Saints are NOT about in 2009.

Then with 3 minutes to go, with the game on the line, Schneider actually IS infringed upon with a clear headhigh tackle. But Schneider, being the filthy little cheat he is, tries to play it up as much as he can. Of course while he's desperately writhing all over the ground crying to his mama, he's not trying to dispose of the ball. So the umpires pay holding the ball. Whether they didn't pay the headhigh because they didn't want to give any free shots at goal at a pivotal stage of the match, or they didn't pay it because they remember Schneider is a stager, i don't know. But Schneider goes off at them again. This time they pay a 50. This incident as much as anything cost the Saints the game.

I'm not going to pretend for a second this wasn't a terrible decision by the umpire. It was. But i bet every non-Saints fan would have savoured the little cheat get his comeuppance. Shame the whole team had to pay the penalty. They deserve better.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story.

The facts are that Schneider was tackled high and should have received a free kick. He had no prior opportunity and there could only be a free kick to Schneider or a ball up.

The umpire should have free kicked Schneider for the earlier incident when he demonstrably clapped the umpire.

After all EFC have suffered the two worst 50metre penalties in the history of the AFL.

- when Fletcher conceded a 50 metre penalty for his demeanour - In other words having an angry face

- a few years mark Johnston conceded a 50 metre penalty when he called his opponent a weak dog.

Umpires clearly making decisions on their personal opinion of a player. well i am gobsmacked and sad. But not as gobsmacked that a so called fan of AFL would be HAPPY about this and think iots a good thing??? what a tool.

People forget teams for a second this cant go on an umpire favopuring players has to be stopped right away.

saints lose two games by LESS than a kick i love it people ride us off - ha we have been hitting the gym and training track for the finals - thought we could get away with it playing SHITE teams but didnt nearly did ha whatever we are playing finals this year and winning a flag essendon and north??? mmmm theyll be drinkin piss wishin' they were that good! :p

The umpiring in the game was pathetic from the start.

What troubles me more than the obvious umpiring to an agenda, that is an agenda other than a consistent interpretation of the rules, is the moronic, biased, sycophants that justify it because their team won.

North wanted it more than us so I have no problem with them winning but for christ sake, why do people justify let alone tollerate the pathetic standard of officiating we see one a weekly basis on and off the field?

Australian cricketers were recently again approached by bookies. Does anyone seriously think the part-time ametuer officials running the game are beyond being corrupted?

North were $4 to kick the first goal yesterday, $10 in the head to head to win the game and both bets look liked safe bets from the moment the ball was bounced. As I said earlier, North were certainly harder at it, but it's much easier to tag, block and hold if umpires are subjectively interpreting the rules.

The umpires are umpiring to an agenda, that I have no doubt. My only question is the source of that agenda.

This league is a farce. What is sad is the majority of footballer supporters are either too biased or too stupid to realise it.

Did anyone else catch the one earlier in the game where Schneider got tackled, and after the tackle was completed and he and the tackler were both lying on the ground he was still trying to duck his head under the arm to make it high contact? One of the funniest things I've seen on a football field.

I'd be quite happy if all the stagers in the AFL didn't get any free kicks. I'm sick of the likes of Milne, Didak & Leon Davis, Matthew Lloyd, etc. getting a free kick for throwing their arms up in the air. The umpires should realise the players actually make them look stupid.

You are kidding yourself. The Saints were doing plenty of this as well. You were beaten and the umpires had nothing to do with it.
