Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Burdett got 3 weeks for last weeks effort. Anyone see it? I also heard he can still play interleague next week. Is that what the rules say can happen?
Also heard plenty about the unrest out Underbool way last Saturday, it includes a difference of opinion about how good the coach thinks he is. It also seems its everyones fault but his. Keep us tuned in Greyhound.

I believe there will be no more Blue and White stripes on Hills back, Which represented how many possessions he was getting.
Think he needs a much more minor league to live up to his own hype, and this one isnt it.
As i know more you know more, unless anyone else has some input.....1 Roo down and think Markams out with knee for season also, 2 Roos down.
Any other early knowledge?

Just had a phone call from mate in Underbool an Tansley Hill resigned saturday night after Ouyen game. Apparently the old man was the problem taking his stats an telling him how good he was. Was not liked out there at all an left due to that as would have been a lonely job!!

Apparently they will appoint a local an it will either be Kane Munro or last yrs coach!!

Will no doubt be back to the millewa not sure where??

What a joke. If he was indeed quilty, of which I have heard varying accounts. Seems the ground was hard and he was knocked out when he hit it. Even the umpires supposedly could agree!
But aside from that how can you be suspended and then expected to play interleague. What is it with this league, want the glory but No you cant play for your team!

I expect that neither of the Burdett boys will play!

Obviously you haven't been informed of the actual truth!

The President & Committee need to have a look at why Hill has left, and the support that they were not providing!

Sounds to me you know more than your letting on and could very well be one of his trye pumpers....
Were you around the huddles and or watched the games he played???

Didnt impress many!

Know a bit! Not a tyre pumper at all and yes have watched games and listened to the coach talk. Sounds more like Hill is receiving a bad wrap for being a committed and determined coach. You can only work with what you've got!
It's obvious the Adelaide boys were a huge loss!

What is the truth as the person who told me is at every game as his wife plays netball. He very rarely bags anyone an for him to say he is not liked very much is that it wouldnt be far from the truth!!

....like to know if you are an Underbool or even Mallee local, then your opinion would be respected as an alternative to all the one way traffic I am hearing.

But your December 09 comment of "Heard around the traps he is a pretty good coach & top bloke.." makes me think you might not be a nuetral onlooker at all.

And also nothing wrong with a good old fashioned barny as long as people stick to facts and dont get into mudslinging and personal sh*t.....

Yes the adelaide boys were a huge loss, but we have lost them before and the club never went into this sort of turmoil with so much finger pointing.
Be intersesting to see where the players line up with the new coach. Think some were out of position, but dont know if that was all the coach or the selectors fault, or the players themselves not wanting change.. Then again why change much after winning 2 out of past 3 years! We did also gain some so called quality players to take the 3? adelaide boys spots, so no need to blame them for the landslide.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Hope the Mallee league doesnt ever try to get tough like the SFL did this week with Interleague no shows!!.

In my country this man they call "the coach" if on trial would be found GUILTY as charged for non success both of a personal and team perspective. No further questions your worship. The last attempt at a kick has failed and any thoughts of a handpass would be in vain. In short the Prosecution rests!

I have been reading with interest the comments posted about our ex coach. I have been involed with Walpeup/Underbool for several seasons and wish to put forward my viewpoint.
Hill was backstabbed, lied to and undermined and received very little support. I find it amazing that the club chased & signed him but did not support him.
In my opinion not enough players took the time to get to know him (not that many turned up to pre season training anyway!) I don't blame him for leaving and wish him all the best.
For christ sake we should be committed as a team!!!!!

Thats interesting, there is now you and JarJar both saying you have a bit to do with the club and that you supported the coach. From what I hear from the people I know down there, you guys didnt say much in the lead up when it was hitting the fan. Better late than never I guess.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Any news on where hilly is going. I have herd he isnt too welcome back at Golly. And not sure if Robinvale have any room on there bench for the old man to sit and take down the one per centers.

The latest on Burdett is that Hopetoun took the case to the appeals tribunal and after questioning the umpires further it was obvious there were major conflictions and contradictions in their stories, clearly enough grounds to get him off. That was, of course, until Dingo Schuuman took the stand and gave his totally fabricated account of what happened. You only got to look at his track record and look at where he has thrown his fist in the past to realise he is far from a credible witness. Not only did he break the footballers code of silence, he pissed on it by making up lies. He is, as his name suggests, a dog.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Ha ha, i heard he screwed you hopetoun lads over. Word is Burdett's 3 weeks have been reduced to 2 . As for dingo and his voice at the appeals, well he's one lucky man that no video evidence came out from the rainbow venue/funtion a few years back, he would have been given life for the late, high, violent backhand on his loved one before his rainbow peers, don't you worry his mates still talk about this violent attack. Very short memory you dingo.
Anyhow Burdett out or in won't help Hopetoun take out the flag this year. The boys in blue or ouyen will hold up the cup in september

Pretty sure you are right about Buelah or Ouyen. Heard Ouyen havent put there recruiting boots away yet either... have signed a guy who had a run at StKilda and played with their coach in Adelaide will play enough to qualify I heard. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong its just a whisper I heard. Facts are welcome!

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Saw Walpeup Underbool on the weekend for the first time since last years finals and in their first game since Hill resigned/was pushed. Some points I thought were interesting:
1. WU skill levels were incredibly sh*t. Not sure Hill can be wholly blamed for poor performances based on those skill levels.
2. Three or 4 players who would not get a game in ANY other team except maybe Woomelang
3. Vorwork is an impressive speaker.
4. Hopetoun can easily get a finals berth this year. WU has no hope.

Just opinions, did any one see the new Ouyen guy??

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

some disappointing behaviour from a group containing a club prez and former club prez on the weekend threatening to hit a 16 yr old for tackling one of their sons on the footy field in the twos . always believed afl was a contact sport if you dont want to get hit dont play. dont know if any thing was said in the huddle but the 16 yr old was choked punched in the face and elbowed to the back of the head in following quarters id certainly hope he wasnt targeted for playing the game within the rules

When teams are battling to get players for the twos, and you get your kids to fill in, you expect opposition teams to look after them a bit. Otherwise plenty of mums (and dads) out there will say stick your twos up your arse.
Twos has always been a tough comp and I worry about how young some players are getting just to get a team on the park, up against grown men with white line fever and few brains. (supporters included) What game was it crassher?
